In defence of the Stakers, it looks like they were approached for a comment and gave the predictable dog-bites-man answer. I don't see why Bazza's mum wasn't asked for her equally predictable views.

Its interesting that Barry might probably prefer to be charged with assault and battery than be dealt with by the sporting association rules. I reckon a single punch and minimal damage, an early guilty plea with subjective and objective mitigation he could get a Section 10, if he has no previous or at most a $1,000.00 fine. Yep throw the book at him.

Sorry, but this has now officially become a joke.

He laid in a left-hander (and an extremely good one at that).

He'll get six to eight weeks MAXIMUM. No jail time. No criminal charges.

His broken wrist will take EIGHT to TWELVE weeks to mend fully.

Seeing's he was already looking down the barrel of eight weeks before he broke his wrist - it's a pity he didn't lay into a few more of them.

Ah the value of hindsight.
