There are only two reasons for that difference - none of which should be considered by a disciplinary tribunal. Gamble punches like a shiela and Del Santo is a man

Severity of contact is a guiding factor for suspension, as it should be.

This site has really become a bit tacky with its attacks on the victim.

Hall didn't swing wildly and he looked at Staker. Both were sudden contacts. I think he showed much the same intent. Hall's contact was much more intense with greater result.

I think Gamble was pretty lucky, but 2 weeks for minimal effect is not too far out of the ball park.

Hall is going to be crucified if he gets more than 6, but that's because of the nature of his strike - it simply looks bad, as many ex-players have commented on.

"Victim" FFS. He is a footballer who dished it out to our two smallest players in the 06 semi-final. He has said nothing since Barry apologised. He is gutless and weak. I was dropped from behind and had the lights out for a short time in a RL BHP match. Shook hands with the bastard who pinged me at the end of the match and had a beer. No damage and no harm done. Its called being a man. I can help with definition if this is puzzling.

Don't know where you get your boxing expertise from. A two time world boxing chamion described Hall's blow to me this morning as an instinctive punch that hit what is called by boxers the "sweet spot". He said that Hall's power and speed was impressive from a technical point of view. Hall's blow was not premeditated. Gambles was.

Staker if he is honest would say the following:

I accept Barry Hall's apology and accept his action was done in the heat of the battle. He should receive fair and impartial justice as I did when I hit Adam Scneider in the head in 2006. Everyone deserves a fair trial and not trial by media. I hope Barry recovers from his injury and gets back to playing the great footy that he can play. And Mum SHUT THE @@@@ UP!

                      Yeah, it's all Staker's fault...

Quick to defend other players but not our own.

Blindly defending the guy who punch someone and criticising the guy who was punched is not being a supporter - it's being stupid.

                              I'm still his friend.

I may be disappointed in ya Barry and hurting from what you did, but I still love ya. I can't be mad forever at a bloke who lifted the premiership cup for the Swans.
