Fweo are still 14th and the criminal budgies are second last.
Second last is much better than last, isn't it?Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Do you get quality draft picks for finishing second last?
I don't think they could even tank their way to last at this late stage of the game.

The run home in the race for the wooden spoon:
Melbourne
Geelong (H)
West Coast (H)
Port Adelaide (A)
Richmond (H)
West Coast
Essendon (H)
Melbourne (A)
Hawthorn (H)
Geelong (A)
The round 20 meeting of these two sides is crucial, and will decide who gets the wooden spoon and the spoils that go with it. It is a must-win game for Melbourne. If West Coast win, it will give the Eagles a two-game break over Melbourne. Melbourne will have to win two of their remaining three games to avoid the spoon. Should Melbourne win, it will put them in the box seat to avoid the spoon, with West Coast staring down the barrel of two tough games against top sides in the last two weeks. West Coast can easily give up enough percentage in the last two weeks to slip to bottom in the last fortnight.
In the other games, Melbourne have better prospects to sneak an extra win, with a winnable game against Port Adelaide and a slight chance against the Tigers. West Coast face top sides Hawthorn and Geelong, and a difficult game against Essendon. Melbourne also face the Catternauts in their run home, and need to restrict the damage to avoid the spoon. In their earlier meeting in round 3, Melbourne performed admirably to restrict the margin to 30 points at the Cattery. A similar strong performance in the return meeting will be helpful to their chances."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

The Evils only realistic hope for a win is against the Dees. However, the Dees play 3 winnable games, including the wood deciding game against the Evils.Last edited by cruiser; 4 August 2008, 06:19 PM.Occupational hazards:

Kerr doesn't look quite so good without Judd and the other bloke there. Works hard but really, is he that good that he could win a brownlow? Win a Browlow in a team that is evenly spread is a challenge, think Jimmy Bartel and Goodes. Personally I don't care about the Eagles as long as we keep beating them. Still think we wuz robbed
