I dont mean to be rude, but anyone who went to that game and says Buchanan played anything but shizen footy has no idea.

He made error after error and has just lost any football smarts that he may have had. His ability to pick out opposition players and hit them on the chest lace out is breathtaking and he must have something wrong with his left foot, his natural kicking foot, because he refuses to turn that way and gets himself into awful trouble going the wrong way. The best thing he did all day was get that free for ducking his head.

The game was quite embarrassing at times. At one stage we had over a dozen players within a few metres of the ball, and the rest not much further away.

What was Kennelly thinking in the third quarter, going up third man in the ruck when the ball was 25m in front of their goals and knocking it out into the clear for North to kick a goal?
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I thought Buchanan looked pretty ordinary on the telecast too.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think when White was rucking, we were worried about losing the tap and so a lot of times we had a third man up be it Goodes, Ablett or Richards helping him out.

I can't recall whether it was White or Jolly in your particular example but it may be a plausible explanation.

The commentators had just said "North need someone here to go third man up and clear the congestion" and I said to Goody Stella "I just hope none of our guys are dumb enough to do that" then in goes Tadhg. I highlighted that was a junior football mistake to make, she then highlighted he never had a chance to learn it in junior football and it obviously just never came up for someone at the club to tell him.

You see, you see? A very exciting prospect IMO. I was very happy they gave him a run in the ruck, I imagine 7 HOs is more than we have been getting from Lewis- and it did free up Lewis to dominate in... umm.... across.... ummm.... either way, good start for young Jesse!

One overall observation on today's game. We didn't look like a top side, more a middle of the road tough side who struggles to kick goals and lacks class.

Yep we get back Hall, Malceski, Fosdike and we could be able to match anyone, but that ain't going to happen for many weeks, so what we can hope for is to snatch a few very scrambled victories to stay in touch and hope for the best.

About the best backline in the comp but that appears to be where it stops.

We just lack any semblance of brilliance.

said this elsewhere but buchanan, j bolton, lrt, barlow are all unreliable with the ball. this makes those who say we should play open "attractive" attacking football simply do not understand how poorly we would play in such games. we would turn it over repeatedly and our defenders (barry, bevan, richards) would exposed one on one at the back - and they are not good enough to win repeatedly

Even if we just get a handful of games from White to fill gaps, it's a great bargain given how late in the draft he was taken.

Why did MOL play on when he kicked his third goal?

So he did not get moved around onto a tight angle, and thus make his less than reliable goal kicking more so...

I thought he marked it in the square? That's what it looked like at the time.

Thought the same thing. Maybe he didn't realise he was in the GS. Maybe he didn't want to waste too much time.

Yep. definitely in the GS, would've been a goal to Jack if he didn't mark it.
