In his 3 games this year Davis has 33 disposals, 3 goals and 4 tackles.
In those same 3 games, MOL has 32 disposals, 3 goals and 4 tackles!

Without inside knowledge, no one knows what Roos thinks of Davis or what goes on inside Davis' head. However, I think it's presumptuous to say that Davis has no support from the coaching staff - moral or otherwise.

Why would a Club renown for looking after their players abandon one individual? Nobody is a victim, we all have to take some responsibility for our actions and circumstances in life.

Gosh that could have been so different with a few extra words, which is maybe how it was meant. Had Roos said "Nick hadn't achieved some of the things we wanted him too" or "reached a level we wanted him too" and then put a bit of spin on how the selection panel had brought him in to fill a gap and taken some responsibility for his underperformance, it would have been a much more supportive comment. As it is though it does not read very well at all, either for Nick or for Roos.

why doesnt davo ask jude bolton for the photos of roosy he obviously has that prevent him being dropped.

I have a bad feeling davis will go.

Davis needs confidence to perform he has to back himself to go for goal and be creative dropping him again will ruin him.

With hall out we hardly have a cue of forward options so what do we have to lose in giving davis an extended run to get some form back, if it works we will reap the benefits.

He still draws a key defender as well unlike any young player we bring in, which takes pressure off magic etc.

The way roos is coaching davis if we had the 05 semi final moment again he would get the ball and look to dish off instead of kicking the winning goal

He cannot keep living of 2005. I watched him on the weekend and the guy just doesn't chase.

Sorry but he can't keep living of the "most talented" tag for his whole career at the swans. It was a game like the weekend that we needed Davis to grab the game by the scruff and turn it upside down..and again he failed. I watched him closely and yeah he is just slow and loses interest really quickly.

But i am at a loss why he is treated like our best player on this site yet in his 5 years with us he has only dominated 1 qrt of football. It's really hard to fathom why so many refuse to acknowledge that he hasn't lived up to the hype at all yet have no qualms in laying the boot into players who give 110% every week.

I've never heard anyone say he's the best player at the club. A few of us on here just think that his performances are judged differently to everyone else.

He didn't dominate that game against the Pies - just kicked the sealer.

It was pretty clear yesterday that his confidence looked down. Similar to McVeigh last year - scared . His form is not good but he's not so far off to not warrant selection. As I said before he could so easily have kicked 3 goals and be involved in 2 others (instead of 1 and 1).

Which is just silly as he has shown a lot in the past 5 years. It's not a case of 'love' - it's a case of some people enjoying watching a talented player and feeling he is being treated less fairly than some others.

Again with that myth. He does chase. He spent a lot of time covering the centre preventing North changing directions. He didn't play well, but there are a lot of extra things invented about him.

Which is an error in itself - he played well for all of that game, not just the last qtr. He also played well in most games leading up to that, plus played well in 2006, including the GF, yet was inexplicably dropped in 2006. Has struggled to be included effectively since - less time and less focus as a forward (yet still kicked a lot of goals).

It's really hard to fathom why so many refuse to acknowledge that he hasn't lived up to the hype at all yet have no qualms in laying the boot into players who give 110% every week.

A lot of the 'hype' is created by the people complaining about him.

He didn't get to be the 29th leading goalkicker in goals per game in the competition last year from being hopeless. His numbers are similar to MOL's yet no one complains much about him.
