Using your logic he has been without confidence for some time now. I hardly think it's confidence - i think he knows where he is at and just doesn't give a @@@@ these days. It sure looked that way on the weekend.

Again with that myth. He does chase. He spent a lot of time covering the centre preventing North changing directions. He didn't play well, but there are a lot of extra things invented about him.

He didn't get to be the 29th leading goalkicker in goals per game in the competition last year from being hopeless. His numbers are similar to MOL's yet no one complains much about him.

No one on here thinks he is our best player.

Attitude and application are things he needs to work on. Jude Bolthon needs to work on his disposal. Do we ever hear about that from the coaching staff? No. Is he ever on the verge of being dropped? Not to my knowledge.

Davis' output alone comfortably puts him in our best 22.

Based on what I see, which is what everyone here does, I thought there was little reason for Davis to be dropped in 2006 or after rd 1 this year.

What @@@@ is dumped on MOL? There are comparisons made that he hasn't played significantly better than Davis in recent years.

For people saying Davis has done nothing since 2005, compare his numbers over the past three seasons with some other players.

The way people talk about Davis it's as if he's done nothing. However he has contributed in terms of getting the ball, kicking goals and tackling. No doubt his numbers could be better than what they are, but his contribution has clearly been enough to warrant his selection in the #22 in the past few years. You pick players on what they can contribute relative to other players, now or in the future, not relative to a perceived potential. I can't think of anyone who thinks Davis is the best in the side or even close to that, but he has been playing well enough in the past three seasons to warrant his place in the side.

Here we go. That's part of the problem - people expect too much from him. 29th in the competition for a third or fourth forward is exceptional. I suspect the 28 in front of him are their team's first or second forward.
