Now that I've gotten that off my chest, on to the real issue. While I would have no problem with naming the stand after either S Waugh or R Benaud, I truly think it is about time the SCG Trust acknowleged that the Swans are a part of SCG history( admitedly only the last 25 years) & named the new stan d after one of the greatest Swans of all. THE TONY LOCKETT STAND!

After all, Plugger provided one of the greatest moments ever at the SCG when he kicked goal number 1300 & broke Coventrys record.
He was a nudger and a truely unpleasant individual. If thats the way national teams win games then why not get the kid who went the biff in the pub recently to turn on a stink poolside at the Olympics. As for Packer's brown noser in the bone we can do better. What wrong with the Keith Miller Stand. Flew planes in the war, kept a perspective about sport, most naturally gifted cricketer to ever play for Australia and was an outstanding sportsman, loved the punt and a beer. And turned up pissed for the ABC TV commentary after the tea break. What being an Aussie sportsman should be about. He said that the greatest innings he ever saw played for Australia was in the England v Australia Services game in 1945 when a survivor of the Burma railway (whose name i can't recall at the moment) walked to the crease to a standing ovation at Lords. Great man Keith Miller.
