    Thoughts:

Most number of posts to read through in a game thread ever.

Barlow played the worst game for the swans since the donut king, Chambers. The stats say he had effective disposal % of 75% and only two clangers but I remember him distinctly butchering it every time.

Bevan was great. Mattner was again great. Honestly what won us this (IMHO) is that we started running and taking the game on in the 3rd quarter. We didn't wait to throw caution to the wind until the last 5 mins as we did plenty of times in 2007.

Umpiring was terrible in the first half (in particular).

The Eagles are a dirty team. They clearly targeted goodes and kirk contrary to the rules and spirit of the game. And got away with it.

Bolton was great all game. Malceski really showed that he is back.

Kirk and Goodes led from the front and Goodes is starting to take some great pack marks ever since his vics v dream team game hanger.

Like I said before, one of the best things, if not the best thing about being a Swans supporter is knowing that the boys never give up!
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

        ok two more thoughts:

Moore had his worst game yet, but hey it happens.

Goodes had six contested marks. Recently we have been averaging 9 or 10 a game according to the swans website.

It's about half hour after the match and my ticker is just now calming down... just a couple of hours now to the Iraq game...and the Euro80 opening ceremony and Switzzzzzzerland v the Czzzzzzzzech Republic...(can I stay awake? I need some of that west coast snorting stuff). As for the Swans, what a great demonstration of self-belief in the team. They had no right to win that game given that shocking first half performance, but maybe they were just toying with the druggies, setting the trap...the E-girls would be so pissed at losing that match that I reckon a night out on the old coke and ice is on the cards...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Good teams can play like absolute rubbish and still find a way to win.

On the other hand, flag threats don't lose to Caaaarlton.

Yep you could hear the disappointment in the radio commentators voices when they said "It was definitely there" as against the laughter and merriment when whoever kicked with the foot of god.

Admittedly, I only watch bits and pieces of the game so didn't see all that much of Barlow, but I was very disappointed with what I did see. He seemed to run over the ball a lot of the time, which probably doesn't count as a clanger (he didn't get possession), but was still a very poor effort.
