Agreed he is a very lucky boy to get away with this. I realise that the incident looked as soft as butter but this is what the AFL is trying to stamp out...they don't want to have a player in a wheelchair before they are seen to do anything...so whilst the contact was minimal, it was very stupid and should have gotten time...don't get me wrong, I am VERY happy though...thanks MRP!

And does anyone know if the Selwood reprimand is for the tummy punch or the incident that led to Buchanan leaving the ground with a bloody cheek? I can't remember who it was who tickled Monty's tummy but one would have to assume it was the cheek incident, given the conclusions reached on other charges where the contact was deemed to be too insignificant to be a reportable offence.
It may have been for the head high contact on Goodes in the first 10 seconds of the game.

The one that knocked him down with the puff of wind to the head...?

No, the MRP summation says it was for striking Buchanan.

Yep, but it was still head high contact.

The only thing that contacted his head was the wind!

Goodes was playing the ball, soccer-style. He does it every other week. Selwood shouldv'e been booked for getting his head in the way. Idiot.

Is there other footage available? I only saw the vision from the game which is looking from Goodes back. Maybe that is why swans appealing?

Only got up to here in this thread, and from the limited footage I saw of the incident (didn't get to see the game) it looked as if Goodes was running in his normal running action.
Just how it looked to me.
And even then it looked very soft.
I'd say he got what was due

Goodsey accepted the reprimand. Smart decision, imo, even though he's out of the running of the Brownlow, at least he put team ahead of the individual, etc.
