Maybe your constant negativity is boring? Have you ever thought about that? Maybe people want to talk up the merits of said player rather than constant bang on about the negatives. There is no crime in being passionate and postive..there is no crime what so ever. To me you come across as very cynical and harsh on anyone who isn't the same. To me that isn't the kind of people forums should allow.

You have a fairly warped view on things..well actually your justifications contradict themselves.
Please don't attempt to tell me what motivates me, what annoys me and how I otherwise think.

People can do what they like. Find a post on here, where, in the absense of pretty obvious humour, I have been critical of a poster for having a positive attitude towards a player, or the club. I have givan alternate points of view - eg Mathews is not playing well, Goodes act was ordinary (especially the dive) - but show me one post where I have bagged someone for being positive.

I wasn't that fussed, and it was his baby.
Through the years I think he was right, but in light of Jim Main's comments, perhaps an 'avoidable' place for those who have gripes about the Swans might segregate the negative stuff a bit and have this place appear a bit more 'sunshine, lollypops and rainbows'

Yes well CTS, those were simpler days...

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

He is far more 'deserving' of having an opinion about the playing abilities of the Swans, but he just seems to be blanketed by his apparent hatred of the Swans.
Doesn't seem to offer a level headed opinion, so I choose to ignore it.
I find David Schwarz quite entertaining in his role on the run home, but he seems to really fall down when he is talking about the merits of a club and it is not only us. He is fairly typical of most radio footy commentators in that they only ever talk about better players in a side and appear to have very little knowledge of the depth of a club. More so interstate sides.

For instance he finally admitted last week that we are a much better side than he thought, and a Swans supporter said to him "and it has taken 11 rounds for you to come up with that." I haven't heard anyone say McVeigh has improved, Bevan has improved, that we have the best backline in the comp etc etc etc. The odd person mentions Kirk's leadership and gee I am struggling to remember hearing that O'Keefe is in stellar form.

And they still rattle on about Malceski's knee op and Hall will be back in 5,4,3,2 weeks, next week.

By the way I would love for someone to pull up posts where the CLUB has been criticised. I can't remember the last time I saw that and gee it's a while since Roosey copped a genuine pizzling (great word that).

I admit early on I may have been a bit personal on a players performance but for most of the time I have criticised the action (poor game, skills etc) and not the person, which most people on here are careful to do.

I had a number of head high tackles on me by some posters a couple of years ago and I have been called a moron, fruitcake and more for my opinions, so it appears more likely posters cop the flack than players.

Jim main seems to think to question a players game and/or skills and the like is a personal attack, hardly.

Why? For expressing an opinion? For daring to disagree? Does deleting an account delete all posts? Would a moderator care to enlighten the rest of us about this apparent censorship? I think we have a right to know.

Sadly for Journos the world has changed and Joe Public can now contribute on sites such as RWO. They must feel threatened to publish a piece like Jim has.
But well done on your book Jim, enjoyed it mate.
Anyway youv'e stirred up an entertaining read here, mightn't have time to read the published print media, this is pretty time consuming.

Some of the stuff was beyond having an opinion, it was just completely false.
I listen to The Ox almost every day. Like many commos - he often has no idea and just regurgitates what someone else has said, or toes the company (AFL D__Kheadquarters) line. IMO, proportionally speaking, the ratio of crap professional commentators to good professional commos is about the same as the ratio of raving posters to reasoning posters, and I certainly don't want to live without my Ox - if you know what I'm saying.

Why didn't Main bother to mention the overwhelming number of posts that (obviously) express how much RWOers love Roos and the Swans? Toeing the company line? Regurgitating what someone else has said? Lazy.

BTW, Inside Footy is, generally speaking, a quality publication. Main has, on numerous occasions, come out for the Swans when the regurgitators down here were in lockstep.

Jim wasn't just referring to RWO as I'm sure there are references to BigFooty.
He's a decent bloke and I get the impression that he enjoys his footy but also has other interests such as the history of the game.
Having said that I agree there's not much difference between folk discussing the game at the pub, workplace or whereever or online on a forum such as this.
FWIW this site is pretty good compared to a lot of others.
