That's because he works hard to get the ball there.

I think his field kicking is much improved in '09. Hes had bad games when the whole side has had the heebee-jeebees.

Consistency is the key from here on out, J-Macca.
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

I agree, but at this stage Moore doesn't have the running capacity to spend too long following the ball. Hopefully after another good preseason or 2, he'll become a regular midfielder, because he looks at home in there, and has a fantastic penetrating kick, which is something McVeigh doesnt have.

have been a big critic but he is worming his way into my good books.

improvement is coming in a few areas, but surely improved fitness has been the key - he always seemed to have the skills, but showed poor judgement and often got caught with it. Additional fitness has enabled him to get clear, and whereas once he'd be brought down, his extra second to take a look and assess the options now looks like good footy.

running into open goals is evidence of improved confidence & fitness in that he is backing himself to do the hard running to play defensively if we turn it over. Good reward. No doubt he has also been flying under the radio and benefiting from attention going elsewhere.

To be expected his brother at SnDon took a long time to mature as a player and he is now close to being their best midfielder.

I think in a couple of years he will be judged a better player than Mark.

That's a big call...His disposal, and decision making, in general play is still very suspect and he has no penetration with his kick.
But I do like your optimism.

whats he got for the season now? 20+ goals...has been great in getting forward whilst still being a good defensive player. Will never be a superstar, but i would like if he became a good consistent player. eg. Eagleton @ his peak or an Adam Simpson....very much different players but both of those players are good consistent players without being great.
