Playfair's kicking is ordinary. And there's little evidence it will get any better. But this isn't a Henry Playfair thread. Freaking off Playfair will not save Davis' career. If Playfair was dropped or injured, he could easily be replaced by someone other than Davis.

i only talk of playfair in exchange for davis as i think we have enough tall forwards and no offence to playfair but his skills are very very ordinary where as depsite his alledged lack of defence etc davis has awesome skills.

i would also question what playfair does in terms of pressure and tackles that davis doesnt and also how many scoring opportunities playfair generates that davis wouldnt.

i just find it frustrating some of the players we have seem to have such ordinary skills yet get picked time and time again over davis, who is a player who needs confidence etc and is dropped time and time again

Agree entirely. I'm not sure if we've missed something but I've seen nothing to suggest that Playfair is any sort of freak at defensive pressure.

It's obvious the Swans have no idea how to handle Nick.

He is contracted until 2011. If we trade him, we will get a fourth round pick if we're lucky. Stuck with paying him to play for another Club.

                Much smarter to keep him.

My suggestion and I hope Roos is taking advice from us on RWO again. (We know you read this Pauly....)

First. Employ the services of a hypnotherapist.

                Second. Nick on couch.

Problem to address is Nick chasing opposition.

Easy. "Nick y?u are starting to imagine the opposition players as big juicy KFC drumsticks. Nick you are soooooo hungry. Chase the drumsticks Nick!"

                He'll run all day.

So obvious. Club just doesn't know anything about player management.

We only have one other tall forward - Hall.

There are many skills in AFL football.
Granted, Playfair's kicking skills are ordinary, so...
Which or the other skills you need as an AFL footballer are ordinary??
The rest seem good to me...
His contesting in marking and tackling have been great.
His second efforts when the ball hits the ground (even off his contests) have been great.
His hands and peripheral vision are very good.

So which "skills" are you not happy with?
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Davis has had a couple of chances this season and didnt really grab either of them. Davis expects he should be in the senior team but doesnt want to do the hard work required to get back. Im sure if he had 7 or 8 tackles in the 2's would mean so much more than 4 - 5 goals.

Cant say what Roo's thinks but Davis may have had his time and its time to move on. Davis fials the Swans no d...... policy how else do you explain a player with great talent but is too lazy to make the most of it...Unfortunately Nick will be remembered as a wasted talent who played one great game.

ROK just on the couch sated "it just goes to show talent cant take you everywhere unless you are prepared to do the hard work" replying to a question about Nick Davis and how he still has the talent - from a senior player really says it all - Davis your gone

All the baggers of Playfair need to get a grip - our forward line in the last 5 weeks has probably functioned better than any time in the last 5 years and Playfair is part of that. He is currently playing better footy than what he did at Geelong and is obviously performing his role well.

Im sure all of you bagging Playfair on this forum have more AFL/Playing coaching experience than Roos and are better placed to call for him to be dropped.

                      Cheers

And how well placed are you to determine the reasons why Davis hasn't achieved what the club wants and exactly what the club asks of him?

I want to see Nick back in the Seniors.
Simply achieved by direct one on one talk - Nick to get back in the team we need you tackling - this is how we will do it. Give him a coach - defence to train him one on one - dont just throw him to reserves and expect it to happen.

Not enough thought into what is specifically needed for Nick.
                              Love those Swans
