Unfortunately the one thing I never believe anything Roos says is when he talking about Nick Davis.

I don't believe anything Roos says about anything.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I believe Roos when he says "I'm hungry".
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Last night his coaching was on a par with his eloquence.

Thought that McVeigh was really disappointing. Im not knocking the young bloke but without Goodsey in the team he really had to take it to another level. Didn't happen and we really had no run around the slag heap at all.

because one person hates davis as much as he loves bevan

was odd to see him listed in the best in the paper

Because this is not a bash Bevo thread, it is a thread about including Davis.

With six kicks and five hand passes from a midfielder. They must have been of better quality than i recall. He did make seven tackles but was well beaten on the night.

After last nights performance, if Buchanan is named in the team next week, then that proves to me that Davis is treated differently to most others in the team. Buchanan was AWOL last night.

I am all for bringing Davis back but i can see the unrealistic expectations building already for what he can bring to the side.

The HTB against him in the final quarter I thought was harsh. Yes, he had plenty of prior opportunity but I don't think he was genuinely tackled. From where I was sitting (and I haven't watched a replay) it looked as if the ball was knocked out of his hand as soon as the Pies player made contact.
My thoughts exactly. Only had 12 touches, but he was one of very, very few out there actually making good decisions, and tried all night. I was keeping a particularly close eye on him (one of the people I was sitting with, while not a Bird-basher, isn't convinced by him, and I'm trying to sway him by pointing out all the good things he does!), and even in the third quarter, when almost everybody, even ROK, completely stopped running, Bird was covering ground, and throwing himself into packs, and showing, in my opinion, great leadership and maturity beyond his years. I love the way he goes about his footy, and I can see why Roos and co gave him the number 14. Even if he doesn't wind up to be as good as Kelly or Skilton, I have no doubt he'll be a leader of the club (maybe captain, probably just leadership group).
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Yep, unless he achieves a BOG then what hope does he have.....
