I don't want Bazza sacked or traded. What I do want is for him to get his head straight and come back and play football like we all know we can and help us win another flag.

Well sporting tribunals throughout the world don't agree with that. Mandatory two year ban for drug use (please don't respond that Cousins was taking only recreational drugs, he wasn't they were performance enhancing) as against discretionary weeks bans. Amphetimes have been responsible for the deaths of competitors - two cyclists died of heart attacks at the Rome Olympics and the significantly increase agression - take a walk on the ildside in Wollongong every Saturday night for example. Barry is not a "thug" and whatever his problems currently are they no way equate legally or morally with drug taking in sport.

        More absolute nonsense.

Swans' actions should embarrass AFL - realfooty.com.au

If Hall had kicked 8 in each of the last 5 games do you think he'd be made an example of in this way?
          It was FRUSTRATION.
And it wasn't an attempted strike.
It was a push that was to high IMO
But regardless of what I think about this incident in particular, there has been a MASSIVE over reaction in the media, amongst supporters and also here.

To me most of the posts made here are intended to show everyone that people here are rational, fair and unaccepting of percieved poor behavior on the field.
But it doesn't come accross that way.
I'm sure there are a lot of supporters from other club using the word 'bandwagoner' about many of the posters here right now.
And it's a pretty apt description, with all the "sack him" and "trade him" posts being made.

I'll stand by him and even feel sorry for him that whatever personal issues he has seem to be giving him a shorter fuse than usual.
He was a premiership captain for the Swans and he'll have to do a lot worse than this for me to even think about removing him from the club.

          I hope he's back soon.
Don't get me wrong Cure, I don't want him sacked or traded and I want him back as soon as possible, but the club can't allow him at present onto the field while he continues to get upset and throw punches over what are very minor issues (such as frees or baiting).

Get him help, set the critera, let him work through it and at the end of it welcome him back with open arms.

But only once they are confident he has the temper under control.

IF the psychologist can stop him having hissy fits on the ground, I'll be happy.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

                I didn't see this posted.

Apparently Hall is clueless as to why the Swans have put him on the sidelines.

Didn't mean to direct all of my post at you.
Some people here are calling for his head though, and my comments were directed more at them.

Happy to agree to disagree with the whole banning situation.
But the"dump Hall" posts are just stupid.

You mean the way the counselling was a success with Sam Newman. If you don't think you have a problem then no amount of counselling or anything will help. I still think it is all a media beat up. Incidentally Spida has now come out and said maybe Barry wants to give up AFL for boxing.

                      That was a good read.
I am not a Andy D bagger, and have always been a general advocate for Roos' decisions, but I think they both have it wrong here.

And there is a far bigger problem AFAIC.
                      The players.
You'd hate to see division amongst them over this decision.

Tonight or tomorrow night the tide will start to turn in Hall's favor.
People will see the replay again and start to say "What?!?! For that? He has been indefinitely sidelined for THAT?!?!?"

                      That's what they'll say.
And then the media will start saying it.

I can't believe the hipocrisy in modern football.

Players like Brereton, Rhys Jones, Williams, Lockett, Dipper, etc, etc, used to punch guys out every second week. We hail those dudes as champions of the game.

Poor ol' Baz does the footy-world a favour by dropping Staker and nearly rubbing out Wakelin and suddenly everyone wants his blood.

Times have changed. I love the modern game. But this PC crap is going too far.
Maybe if the umpires did their jobs and paid free kicks to Hall for all the scragging he cops, we wouldn't be in this situation.

                          @@@@@@ you Demetriou.

Did you actually watch the game? Hall was acting like a petulant child right from the opening bounce. Some of the ridiculous free kicks he was giving away were mind boggling. The Wakelin incident was just the last straw.

Now Roos gets advice that Hall isn't in the right frame of mind to play football. He would be negligent if he didn't heed this advice. At the end of the day he has to do what's right for the club and Hall. If that means getting Hall help with his personal problems then so be it.

I must be missing something here. Are the club saying he was dropped for the incident or are they acting on advice from the clubs doctor that he isn't in the right frame of mind to play football.
