The free kick was paid in the second quarter just in front of the carlton interchange bench. I was sitting right behind them.

That free kick to Judd was the worst free in history. But as noted previously in this thread it's not unexpected when Chamberlain is involved. How he even thought it could be in the back was unbelievable.

At half time when the umpires were walking off I yelled out some friendly abuse to Chamberlain. He heard me and smirked!

It's frustrating when there is a separate rule for players like Judd. The number of times he was allowed half an hour to get rid of the ball was amazing. And all he has to do is throw his arms back and he has a free !

There should have been no penalty in the beginning, let alone a 50.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Its not just Judd Mel its a lot of players.

When they think they are going to get tackled all they do is tap the ball in front of them and its too late for the tackler as he already has hold of him, hence holding the man.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

                Please explain.

P.S I felt there was delicious irony that it was a free kick AGAINST Judd with about 10 seconds to go, that ultimately put an end to Carlton's last two minute charge

50 was there because Judd did not get the ball back properly from Teddy I think.

Ted placed the ball on the ground because Judd was still on the ground and Ted wanted to get back to marking his player. He wasn't standing the mark, so had he given it to Kirk on the mark, I'm sure that would have been 50 too.

Different case to the one with Goodes last year, which was clearly time wasting.

As above, the 50m was against Teddy for not returning the ball. He placed the ball on the ground and then proceeded to stand the mark. If he was standing there, he should of thrown the ball back at him. It was a pedantic one but there nonetheless.

The free kick should not have been payed. But given it was, the 50 was clear cut.

Pretty silly to do those kind of things. The players know the rules.

Interesting that when the ball was returned to Bevan(??) after a free in the 3rd Q, it went way over his head, no 50 was given.

Yes well, that should have been 50 too.

and it was Chamberhack who was the umpire that didn't give it against Stevens. Same umpire who gave the Judd 50.

Aren't you people forgetting about the "Judd rule", where Chris Judd, as good as he is, gets a softer deal from the umpires than every other footballer in the league.
