I am going along in the hope that we can at least push them. If we win I would be amazed but also very drunk and excited. But good luck to the boys, in some ways its nice going to a game where there is no real expectation of a win.

Geelong are the best team in the comp by a country mile. Every time I watch them I am amazed at how they demolish teams. Melbourne seriously looked as if they were the local amateurs team on a night out. They seemed to just stand and stare in wonder at how they were being flogged.

According to TAB, the Swans are $4.25 for the Cats game, whilst Geelong are $1.18. They are the exact same odds for the weekend's Richmond ($4.25)-Hawthorn ($1.18) game

But for the fact that I am a Swans supporter, I would tempted with those odds to have a little flutter with the Cats at those odds.

          NO.
Blind Barry will be Scarlett's bitch and the cats are going to rip us a new one.

My biggest hope is that no-one gets injured.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

This is the sort of game that Sydney win. Coming off a series of underwhelming performances, including low-merit wins against low-ranking opponents. Given no chance against a side that, on form and on paper, is a class above us.

See, for example: round 11, 2004 vs St Kilda. Also, to a lesser extent, prelim final 2005 vs St Kilda.

Wait a minute. Maybe we only win these sorts of games vs St Kilda.

            We'll see on Saturday.

I think we will get hammered.

I hope like hell we can put on a good show and maybe snatch the win but my head tells me we will lose by at least 6 goals. Geelong love the big stage while we play like @@@@ on the big stage.

I think we knocked off West Coast in '05 for memory (H&A) when they were looking unbeatable, and did it regularly to Brisbane. So the theory has merit.

Also that memorable thrashing of the Aints at the SCG Rd 11 2004 when the Aints had been unbeaten for the first 10 games of the season 9I think I've got the details right?). But I dont think any of these teams were looking as good as this Geelong team do at the moment.

And in 94... or was it 93???

When Carlton came to Sydney on a Friday night being 10 from 10 and looking absolutely unstoppable and Sydney had barely registered a win from memory.

Carlton got on the plane the next day being 10 from 11 courtesy of a 12 goal thumping from Sydney....

I think that was '95. One of only two games they lost that year (although there were rumours those two games paid for their end of season trip!).

Yep was 1995, they lost to us and St. Kilda in consecutive weeks from memory.

It was in 95, That was my first Swans game. Hooked ever since. I don't know why I chose that game to go to, but I'm glad I did. Will never forget it.

That was one of my first games too and it hooked me, although my partner had followed the Swans all his life I hadn't really bothered prior to that game.

The only chance we have is if we stop Goodes and Hall showering all week and then spend Saturday feeding them garlic.
