Goodbye Top 4 - It was nice

Sadly, the time has come for the Swans to say farewell to 4th position.

It has been good but a pathetic loss by the Dogs and Tigers means that we don't have a chance next week of staying in the top 4.

Lets enjoy this last week and hope that they can get back in, in the last 2 weeks of the comp.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

Yep... Was hoping for a Doggies win but let's not throw in the towel just yet....

The resurgent Blues may deliver us a windfall yet....

its far from over yet. We may slip out of the 4 yet, but the Rooboys still have Geelong to play as well. Whatever happens against Geelong happens, but to make the 4 we have to win the last 2, and even then its far from certain. But its far from over too that we will fall out of the 4. With a bit of luck our worst finish should be a home final in week 1.

The Kangaroos are the biggest pretenders I've ever seen.

They will get absolutely hammered if they finish 4th and play Geelong.

Even with a likely loss to the Cats, if the Swans can beat Collingwood and Brisbane they should make it to 4th.

There are three rivals. Obviously, the Collingwood victory at the Dome knocks them out. Adelaide have ahead tough games against St Kilda away and the Bulldogs at home. North Melbourne have Geelong to play.

I reckon if we beat Collingwood and Brisbane we will finish fourth.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter who we play. Stating the obvious if we win we are assured of finishing 4th (or a very remote possibility 3rd). So let us will the boys to win their remaining games and have their "destiny in their own hands".

By my reckoning we're hardly a shoo-in to play finals yet.

If we beat Brisbane and Collingwood, I reckon we'll finish 4th. North have to win one more game than us, because of their shocking percentage.

Crows have two games in Melbourne and play the Dogs.

We're still in the best position.

We'll beat the cats this week and lock in 4th.

If we cant beat the No.1 side at our home ground, then what is the point of even playing finals ?

There were some signs in the Freo game that things are starting to click.

It will be extremely highly unlikely we'll miss the finals from here.

We would have to lose all three of our remaining matches, and Brisbane or Carlton will all of their remaining matches.

                      Brisbane has:
                      Bulldogs (LOSS)
                      Carlton (LOSS/WIN)
                      Sydney (LOSS)

                      Carlton has:
                      North Melbourne (WIN/LOSS)
                      Brisbane (WIN/LOSS)
                      Hawthorn (LOSS)

Neither will win all three. We're safe IMO.

They have defeated the Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Collingwood (twice) though.

Strange this site where the accusations of negativity do and don't get aimed.

The Roos are less of a pretender than the Swans.

True. Although, their finals performance last year was disgusting and I'm not sure all that much has changed.

We would not have been smashed by Geelong and Port like they were.
