Keep underating North at your peril mate. Coming good at the right time of the season.....

I would not swap North's current form for the Swans gameplan....

Which is why your mob will be culled in the finals. Your suburban chook raffle football club simply doesn't play finals football. Still the pretense might snag a few guillable sponsors for next season. Nice to have you contributing here by the way.

Carlton v North this week is a huge game for us, obviously.

But, if the Blues win, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that we can finish 4th with only ONE more win.

4th is between us, the roos and Adelaide. 2 wins out of 3 will have the Roos covered. Adelaide is the smokey, they are only 1/2 a game behind us, and could win all 3.

I bet North's club raffles DO HAVE a meat tray!

I will check for you - but not sure if they have freshly slaughtered roo on the trays!

Connolly clearly hasn't watched to much footage of North games lately....

...and of course the Swans are playing quality finals football atm. Just how many teams in the eight have you beaten?

There are lots of permutations, but if Sydney win 2 out of the 3, they have a good chance of holding 4th. Thats realistic. I'm not concerned about playing collingwood. The loss of Didak and Shaw will hurt them in weeks to come. Wins against Lions and Pies will do it.

If North or Adelaide win all 3, then they deserve 4th. Thats out of our control.

But, if we really want a tilt at the flag, beating geelong at home is required.

..ummm, if you have a good look at the final 3 games for all of the teams, (swans, roos, corws, pies, saints, lions and the blues), each of them, except for maybe collingwood have a tough draw. I still think that even if the swans drop this game to Geelong they will still make the top 4.

You missed my point Skippy. We have a gameplan that is required for finals football. I saw the effort last year in the finals and i don't know where to start to explain why your impercunious mob won't win a finals match. Your team has a slow midfield that simply can't sustain the intensity required in finals football. They lack speed and lack height in the backline. Your rucks are ordinary. You have Shannon Grant. And probably the boot studder hits the turps. August champions and September pretenders. Now hop along.

Agree - I have to wonder whether Bomber Thompson would prefer to have his team drop a game anyway and not go into the finals 'too cocky'. A tough game against the Swans may just work for North as we play them next week (or we may get flogged)

...which is why only a poor percentage keeps us from being above you on the ladder. Enlighten me as to how your 'gameplan' has gone this year against the other teams in the eight. I will be most interested to hear.....

Don't believe we have played any finals this year.

Some Kangaroos habits from years gone by:

                              * Make the finals with a percentage below 100
                              * Get hammered in the finals

If the Kangaroos do finish fourth, there's a good chance that both will happen again this year.

As for the Swans chances of a top-four finish, they rest with the Collingwood game in round 21. We need to win 2 games to stay fourth, assuming that the favourites win the other five matches. Geelong and Collingwood are the two sides we need to beat, and on recent form Collingwood are more likely to yield us four points.

I don't see it happening either.

On the other hand, the Cats are due for a loss.
