Kirk, McVeigh, Buchanan were brilliant, Jude Bolton continued his good form while up forward ROK had his best game in 6 weeks, Goodesy looked freer in his running and BBBH really looked strong. 3 goals from Jack were definitely a bonus.

    Roll on next week!
I think that Jude was magnificent. His smothers and 1%s were just awesome and I do agree with you about the players you mentioned but there were many others, Richards, LRT, Bevan, Crouch. In fact very few failed.

By the way, anyone on here who lives in Syndey and didn't go tonight are a disgrace.

Great win....as someone said , it was like the old days. They actually put pressure on the other team when they were in possession....they actually held the ball in the forward line - several times.....

BUT ...... OMG how many times will Barry, Ablett , LRT get caught HTB with oodles of time??? (Not to mention Mattner and Richards in plenty of earlier games...even Kennelly and B2 on occasion). Please, please, please can we iron out this potentially fatal flaw? A couple of those HTB were nothing short of a disgrace.

And PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE play on quickly and get it to a one on one in the fifyty, FFS!

                  I am a disgrace.

But even from a warm air-conditioned environment, that performance by Brett Kirk would go down as one of the finest individual performances by a Swan in a big game since Goodes' 2003 QF. One man by sheer force of will, dragging his teammates over the line from failure to success.

Sure, I know that he had a fair few mates, with Jolly, Buchanan and Jude Bolton being pretty consistently good around the contested ball all night, and McVeigh being excellent in patches; but in the 3rd quarter it was like there were 3 of him out there. And they were all champions.

I just read the whole thread from start to finish, reliving the whole game from the dodgy umpires to the brilliant second half. Super stuff

And a big thumbs up to FIGJAM for jumping aboard

                      One word: ROK.

Just about every bloody touch of his led to a score or a scoring opportunity. Amazing hands, and every time he grabbed it he pumped it fast and direct into the hot-spot before the Roos had time to drop players back.

Nope. I said something needs to change, it did lol. Those things would have equalled a big loss, but luckily we got our act together.

Kirky is just inspirational. For a bloke at the stage in his career where you would think he would well and truly be on the downwards slope, 08 has to be right up there. I think he will win Club Champion, and I reckon he will be in the top 1/2 dozen for the Brownlow as well. And IMO he is heads and shoulders the best captain in terms of being able to lead his team from the front and pick them up when a game is all but lost.

Had a sensational game tonight and lets hope he can do it again next week (And for the 2 weeks following as well would be nice )

The maggots tried their hardest to spoil it tonight, but the swans were a lot better than that!!

                            OMG.

                            What a fantastic game.

The shinboners are going to love the VFL.

Kirk - motivational!!! Brilliant game.. I haven't seen a better individual swan performance in a long time

ROK...talk about making your plays count....and I loved the mark turn and play on to advantage... top stuff.

Macca rose to the occasion in a big game, was great at the clearances

Super Ted, BBBH and Jack all very good...

Not too many passengers tonight. I'll sleep happy tonight!

Just got home! That was a superb 2nd half effort by the boys.
                                ROK was amazing!
Spida didn't put a tap wrong. His clearance work was incredible!
Kizza, Kirky and Moore were excellent and it's hard to go past Ted for an outstanding game.
                                Hall owned Firrito - breathtaking.
Ablett and Kennelly had a couple of dodgy's but what I liked was they contested and everyong started backing them up.
                                THAT WAS A GREAT WIN!
