A very poor quarter. We've just lost our run while the Dogs have plenty of it.
Too static moving the ball.
Inaccuracy will cost us. It's 20 scoring shots to 18 but but we're 6 goals behind.
Not out of it, but it's going to need a superhuman quarter to win this one. Can't see it happening I'm afraid."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Three Quarter Time
Western Bulldogs 11.9 75
Sydney 5.13 43
A bad quarter of footy for the Swans, kicking just 6 behinds (about half of them rushed) against the Dogs' 5 goals and 4 behinds. There was no run from the midfield, there were no risks taken and the Dogs played like the Swans did last week.
Hopefully the Swans can at least win the final quarter.I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

all but over Im afraid. I hope beyond hope that Vespa didnt do his knee he looked awfully distraught to me. Very disappointing 3rd quarter really. No run no energy nothing. Shot in the 1st 5 minutes really when they got the early kick away- cant believe Roosy started with Everitt on. We had to kick the Hall and Mcveigh misses (Why the hell didnt he play on and run in and kick the goal!)
A major miracle needed now but its been a more then decent season!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

the first round game where they kicked something like 17-6 to our 13 18 or somnething like that
part of it is that they kick goals from inside 30 with players running at goal. our foirwards are often having set shots but rarely from closer than 45...Comment

Ahhhhh... it's that deliciously light-headed time of the year where we all play delistings...
Mathews, Crouch and Everitt - Gone.
Hall, Mick, Goodes, ROK, Macca, Veszpremi, Bird, Kieza, Kennelly, Craig Bolton, Mattner, Kirk, Moore are all either keepers or too old to have any value at the trade table.
Everyone else who isn't in their first two years - put on the table, delist if no interest and off-contract.
Here we go - one last quarter, let's euthanise this quickly so I can get to my weekend
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Very constipated footy from the Swans, not taking too much on, and the Dogs played some good attacking footy in that quarter.
