I think we have some of the dumbest footballers in the comp.

Having said that, just watching the replay I'm amazed by some of the dumb things footballers do. Lake in the second quarter holding Hall's arm in a pack situation - why bother - Hall virtually never takes a pack mark.

Very disapointing end to a very frustrating season. It was the same story as most of our games. Our inability to play at full intensity for 4 quarters cost us the match again. We just seemed to go completely to sleep after half time, taking nothing away from the Doggies performance.

            re dogs vs swans

AT leat both of my teams in the league and the afl have now been eliminated and now I can go on my holiday to vietnam and cambodia and not give a hoot about who wins the gf

I would still say that the cats will win it but the Saints are an interesting team to watch

I would have thought for sure that the pies were going to win it

I think Kirk just had no legs left and i agree that Roosy probably should have changed a few things earlier in terms of match ups and should have started Jolly in the ruck after Half time instead of Spida. But hopefully Goodes, Rok and few others will get patched up over summer and MOL will be back and i think we can still be competitive next year. Def need to trade for some speed and i would def try for Kerr or another proven ball winner. Should hopefully see improvement of Bird, Jack, Moore after a full year in the side and another preseason under their belt and hopefully Vespa too although i did notice that after he copped that rather small hit and went off, when he came back on pulled out badly of another contest next time he had to go(could be being abit hard on him) but its not something you would like to see creep into a players game.
Vespremi has a huge question mark over him after the last game. He is very young and he was thrown to the wolves in this match. He was clearly out of his depth against the Kangas and Friday night saw him go under. I agree we need midfield pace and it would be worth giving Lovett from the Bombers a go rather than Kerr. Apparently he has been hopeless in terms of his committment. But we do have two outstanding indigenous footballers who could mentor him both by words and deeds. Get him quick.

Bevo played well. One of the best forwards in the business was getting silver service lace out passes on his chest all night from a pacy midfield that was streaming down the ground. i didn't keep a count but i reckon 12 of Murphy's marks would have left the lace marks on his chest. If you can give us a clue how a defender stops an avalanche of pinpoint passess copyright it. You will make a fortune. Because no coach has worked that out since the first footy was kicked in anger. Just for accuracy Murphy kicked two goals on the Bevanator.

It should also be noted that Bruce described one of the Doggies as QUARTERBACKING!!!!! Its entered the lexicon.

I can't believe how many RWO people have written off Veszpremi after one poor match. Only his 5th match or so and his first final at the MCG no less.

Connolly, Bevo posts aside you're quite perceptive and knowledgable but this one has me perplexed.

Connolly is just trying to set Vesz up as the new Nick Davis so we have something to fight about over the off-season.

I thought for a first year player with 4/5(?) games under his belt he stood up pretty well. I liked that he kept trying and chasing in the second half.
Maybe a bit overwhelmed by the occasion in the first. A full preseason and work on aerobic capacity and he will be great. I don't think he's a midfielder tho' but will be happy to be proved wrong.
Sorry but I was doing a Bevo's mum (head in hands) at PB's game. Murphy chewed him up and spat him out.

Vesz's run down from behind in the centre of the ground, could be attributed to the swans player standing a few feet away expecting the ball, looking the way the defender was coming, but failed to give him the "hot" call.

At one stage (in the first quarter I think), they flashed up the shepharding stats and it was about 10-0 to the Dogs.

Shepherding is one example of an area where the Swans really have fallen down this year (as compared to the premiership years).

In addition they didnt tackle as hard, they dont man up like they did and when they play "tempo" football as they tried to do in the third quarter they just seem so stagnate. In their good years there would have been midfielders or flankers running hard to space to provide an option and other players blocking the space but no one seemed to be prepared to do that on the night.

We definitely need some pacey midfielders and some the of the young talls like white, currie etc need to be truly tried out next year in extended stints in the firsts otherwise in 12 months time we may have a very large hole in the forward line and the backline in terms of KPP.
