I'm already sick of Blue and White and I'm sure it's going to get worse

Every second shop is decorated, houses are decorated, the Darby horse is painted in blue and white stripes (normally he wears footy socks) even saw a lollypop lady this afternoon wearing a blue and white wig.
Arrgghhh!! I've had enough! I'm sure it will get worse!

Go Cats! (well I live here, if I value my life I better at least pretend to barrack for them for two weeks)

Maybe, JUST MAYBE, they'll get beaten this weekend.

      Can you imagine it???
They'd go off like a prawn head in your hubcaps.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

EASILY my most hated team in the competition, followed by Hawthorn then St.Kilda. Unfortunately all three sides are still in the finals

I've got a bit of a soft spot for St Kilda, but can't help but want Geelong to win the premiership again. It really is good to live in a town where just about everyone is happy for a couple of weeks!

thats really it isnt it - last years win had such an effect on the place - for the first time in a long time there was something to be really happy about. Geelong has its problems, like any other centre, but this really brought the town together - and to my mind there is nothing wrong with that.

Newcastle went off when they won the rugby league GF a few years back - hopefully it will be the Sharkies turn this year - the Shire will go banana's!!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

correct - I wear my posh frock to the shops all the time! So the shire will be decked out in the Sharkies Black, White and Blue - I'm sure the Cronulla club anthem will be played to the masses as well. It was recorded in a local Scout Hall when the club was established in 1967 - amazing how the melodic tones of an out of tune piano doing a rendition of "Up Up Cronulla the boys in the black white and blue" has stood the test of time.

All relative, what is posh in the Shire would be bogan on the North Shore.

You know I lived in Quakers Hill where I laid bricks and slung mud for a living, then moved to Manly where I surfed and, what else did I do for that ten years? That's right, surfed more. People, no different, except for the pretentious and they can be found anywhere, even on a dung heap. Swans fans on the other hand are always nice to be around

I dont even know how the thing about "the Shire" even started - but it was well over 40 years ago - for me though its where my family is and I have the best memories there - I grew up there - took off when I was 19 and about 12 years ago I returned and havent left. I have lived inner west (Lilyfield) just as it was becoming a bit trendy in the early 80's and loved it, moved to North Shore for a while and loved that too, lived in Melbourne for 3 years , loved it, and Tamworth for 5 years - and really loved that. So I guess it doesnt matter where you live, as long make a go of things, do your best, and try and have a happy life. basically what you get out of life is in direct proportion to what you put into it.

So I reckon that Geelong would be a pretty good place to be living around about now - the atmosphere would be a happy one . Sure you will be sick of seeing Blue and White, but if the Cats take the flag again - why not join in the celebrations.

Of course if was Collingwood - then none of the above would apply
