But O'Keefe is uncontracted, unlike Lovett. That can make a difference to trade value, especially if the player is prepared to go to the PSD.

If he could only handball. Remember Dunks? Couldn't kick, not much at running, but he had the safest hands and contested mark, and that's how I rate Brennan. He gets the ball, but....so its up to the backline coach to set up some plays that make Brennan safe. But do not, I repeat DO NOT, allow him anywhere near the goals. uhhhfffgghh..... then again, I used to say that about Macca.....who knows what could happen. If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

17 goals from 15 games in the 2's.

I heard a rumor on SEN Lovett and pick 23 to Sydney for our pick 12.
The other rumor i heard was Paul Wheatley to Sydney for pick 30.
The Lovett trade seems about fair but im not to sure about Wheatley.Comment

There is no way Sydney can afford to trade a first round pick. If we get one through a ROK trade I'd rather we keep the 2 first round picks than trading one away for a player like Lovett."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

If we use pick 23 and a top 10 then it both helps us maintain our position next year as well as brings in a good young player for the future.Comment

If we draft Wheatley, I will be utterly dismayed. Anyway, I am assuming that the rumour is malicous, spread by someone with a sick sense of humour.
With ROK going, we have the opportunity to establish a quality core to our list for a player generation hence. Let's hope Roos and his crazy draft ideas don't @@@@ it up by trading our treasure for other club's trash. He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

People need to see Lovett for what he is - A quick player with problems and a player who a lower level team like Essendon don't want. He shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as an all-australian, Vic representative like ROK. I say a top ten pick for ROK at least. Lovett is a second rounder at best as he could be gone within a year if things go awry.
Boyle is a seconds player. People seem to get starry eyes about players at trade time. Courtney Johns is a seconds player when not injured. Farren Ray is a senior player but second rounder at very best.
By the way, if ROK goes into the PSD he doesn't necessarily go to Melb or to Perth. He may price himself so as to get to a Carlton or an Essendon or others who can "engineer" space in their salary cap to accommodate his monetary demands. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

Honestly I dont think we should be trading for has been's or never will be's. Johns is a hack. Farren Ray is nothing special.... If we are going to lose O'Keefe then I think we should at least be gunning for some good draft picks. I think it is time to bite the bullet and start "rebuilding" as much as I hate that word.Comment
