I seem to remember Roos did Ross a favour last year with a couple of inexpensive premeirship players. I reckon we should get our payback this year. Which Saints player should we get and what should we offer? Kosi?Comment

Rumour on BigFooty (aka Go Fib Toy)
Hawthorn: ROK
Melbourne: #16
Sydney: GreenComment

Sydney would come out of that proposed deal the worst of the three IMO.
Could still get the Hawks to throw in another player but I think two players for one may not be what the Swans are after. There is significantly list bottling at the younger end of our list and I already think there is going to be teeth-nashing on here in a few weeks time when one or two youngsters are cut who some/many will think deserve another year - and that's without predicting who those may be. Two players for O'Keefe and possibly Lovett for another will probably bring a premature end to another who deserves more time.Comment

In regards to the BF "rumour", Maxfield was quoted as saying the Swans were after a first round pick and a player so while this may not necessarily come off, I don't think we'll settle for a direct player exchange."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

what a rubbish deal that would be for us. If it was me Id take no 16 + a player or say two second round draft picks (Ie Hawthorn would have to trade to get a second decent 2nd rounder). Green is a decent player but we shouldnt waste the opportunity to get a 2nd 1st round pick if at all possible."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I wouldn't rely on BF for anything factual.
We've already had pick 16 for Lovett. Now we have it for Green.
Even bomber supporters are saying lovett is not worth a first round pick. However, as the Swans don't seem to rate draft picks over 12, then who knows that might be gone and instead we'll have two second round picks to draft players instead.
I can't figure that one out.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

No way for Green , a second rounder at most. Just as I hope the deal on 3aw,
Okeefe to dons for exchange of Locvett and a second rounder. Got to be jokin. I think I said earlier stick to the guns a first rounder, lower the better and deal with dons separately on Lovett a second rounder. I also heard this moning on 1116 that Lovett is not as keen to go to Swans as people thinkComment

No love for Lovett. Hawks having second thoughts about ROK. Good news all round.

Could just be a tactic to suggest they're not keen enough to entertain discussions around pick 12 (or 16, if that materialises). Or maybe they've jsut lost interest.
Maybe I'm deluded but I still haven't given up hope of a ROK change of heart. If he realises that the Hawks won't pay him even as much as the Swans have offered and other clubs are baulking, it could yet happen. Still think a big risk remains of him going via the PSD if no-one comes up with an acceptable trade. Carlton could possibly price him out of others' reach - certainly the Demons would struggle with their 92.5% cap restrictions next year. Would he risk the chance of one of the Perth clubs picking him up?Comment
