Deadly - I totally agree with you. Over the way we recruit. Let's do a Hawthorn and Geelong. Trade our stars that 2 or 3 years left. Recruit kids that we can have in the system for 10 years and allow for 3 years of disappointment.

Pick 16 + (another pick/player) seems eminently fair for ROK in this market - so really the only question is whether 16 for Green is appropriate given we don't really have anything else to offer. He's a very good footballer - doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

I think we should forget about Melbourne and Brad Green. Just worry about Hawthorn.

I just hope we trade ROK for pick 16 and Boyle or Thorp and forget about Green he is old and rubbish and we ae in a transitional period so lets forget aboout Green.
How can we and all the other AFL clubs let Hawthorn thee premiers get a player as good as ROK and Geelong get Lovett does anyone want to have a crack at the flag in the next 3 years or just let Hawthorn and Geelong fight it out.
LettingROK go to Hawthorn is a bad move for Collingwood and Carlton

              Isn't Green younger than ROK?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think the point is why trade O'Keefe for Green when we could be building for the future? Not to mention O'Keefe is a better footballer so it'd be a downgrade on what we had before.

Pick 16 and Thorp has to be what we're aiming for.

It's pretty obvious that ROK only wants to go to Hawthorn because he wants to play in another premiership.

When Carltank were interested earlier in the week he put a massive price tag on his head, now that they're out of the race, he is willing to take a pay cut to play at Hawthorn.

My gut feeling is that we will get pick 16 and Boyle. I highly doubt we will get 16 and Thorp.

                    I'll take a 2nd rounder and Thorp.

Brad Green was born 13/3/1981 and ROK was born 24/1/81 so yeah he is younger by a couple of months.
Play hardball 16 and Thorp would be a good result out of a bad situation

Me too. But I don't think Maxfield will.

Funny if you played your cards right and targeted the right proven players , there could be some real bargains on the trade table over the next twenty four hours.

I reckon that a few clubs may have taken this approach which is why no one wants to make the first move.

I also believe that people are putting way too much currency in low draft picks . It would probably be easier to get a low draft pick off the gold coast for a player like Okeefe next year then it would off the remaining clubs this year.

Heres a suggestion, trade o keefe for two young players and a second round pick and let Hawthorne keep precious number 16. (I dont know any of them but it seems that thorpe and boyle /dolwer would be worthwhile from peoples comments here).
