Trade Week - Offers and Confirmation

We are going to bottom out eventually. Maybe not the way Carltank did but there is going to have to be years where we miss the 8.
"Topping" the list up during trade week each year is simply putting a bandaid over a bullet wound. It doesn't really solve any long term issues. In 3 or 4 years we will find ourselves with almost no quality kids coming through if we keep going the way we have recently.Comment

That kind of comment deserves a good slap in the face. Seriously. Some of you people carry on like the club is pushing ROK out the door. He wants to leave and the club is trying to secure the best deal possible without losing him to the draft and getting zilch. Others of you are carrying on like the club has a history of failure when it comes to trade week - get a @@@@@@@**g a grip!!
It's about time we took the hard approach instead of being soft cocks like we seem to be every time trade week comes around. The Everitt trade was embarrassing enough, but this would be ten times worse.Comment

[QUOTE=DeadlyAkkuret;417582]. I'd rather we let RoK go to the PSD and get nothing, that'd be much more respectable than bending over for the premiers.
That sort of comment adds nothing to to the discussion, plus the statement earlier that you would not go to another game if this proposal went through. There is no indication that this is even a plan except some ramblings from Schwartz..keep your powder dry.
And if it happens, and you decide to abandon the team, they are probably better off not having your support.Comment

Sorry Royboy, I know you are very dedicated to the Swans but comments like yours also don't add to the upset some supporters are feeling. In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

O'Keefe closer to heading to Hawthorn - Breaking News - Sport - Breaking News
Looks like we're favouring picking up experienced players over having the draft pick
Mitch Thorp and another of their younger midfielders would be of interest.

Some of you people seriously need to take a chill pill when listening to the crap SEN dish up as probable deals, which mostly come from BF or 15 year old kids sending in text messages.
Here is what we know.
* Hawthorn are now set to do a deal for ROK as salary is now not an issue
* They have to do a deal to get him, because he won't last until their pick in the PSD
* They are prepared to part with pick 16 as a minimum, otherwise they wouldn't even have bothered to chat to him
* The deal will be done for something between pick 16 or pick 16 + either Dowler, Thorp, Boyle or a young midfielder should they deem that of more importance
Brad Green may well end up in Sydney (and he will be a good buy) but it will not be as a direct swap for ROK.
Now that I have sorted all this out for you, can you please stop the historonics.

I agree with your first 2 points, but I think you've assumed too much in your last 2. While we may want 16, there is guarantee that they will be willing to part with it. It may well come down to it on Friday morning, but we shouldn't assume that they are ready to hand over 16 + extras.Comment

You don't talk to a player, ask them to take a pay cut and then turn around and not trade with their current club to do the deal. While I don't care, ROK would be furious with the Hawks if that happened.
Hell, ROK and his manager would not have even wasted their time with the Hawls unless getting a gaurantee that they were serious and that would only be by confirming pick 16 is on the table.
They have only 4 and half days to get a deal done and can't waste their time dealing with a club who is window shopping.

Thw Hawks are definantely going to part with pick 16 the real question is will they give us another player as well.
I think we're all forgetting Ryan O is an all Australian top player 16 is an absolute bargain.
The rumor that has been circulating all day is the swans are super interested in Brad Green and that we would use pick 16.
So in the wash we would swap Ryan O'Keefe for Brad Green in this scenario we are getting massively ripped off in that trade we are getting our pants pulled down so for it all to work with the swans not getting ripped off we would want 16 and a player Tim Boyle would be idealComment

We would be mad if we dont demand pick 16 plus Mitch Thorp!! Even if we throw them our second round pick as well i believe it would be worth it. Even though he has hardly played a game there are huge wraps on him and he's a Key position player which is what we need also.Comment

I think we may be forgetting something here...Hawthorn can't just throw in a Thorp, Dowler etc. Those players have to agree to the switch. Thorp in particular may fancy his chances to sneak into the Hawks side with a good chance to win another Premiership. Why would he move to Sydney?
Boyle is more likely to move...but he may prefer the Dogs to a move to Sydney.
Dowler to me has shown very little except that he is injury prone, so I wouldnt risk him. Why would a fringe player move...yes slightly more chance that they may get a game...but in our case it may just mean free trips to Canberra every second week !!!
I think Pick 16 in a supposedly strong draft may be all we can hope for. I would simply rather us use it to take a punt on a youngster than Brad Green. The one plus is that if we dont push for early draft picks it may mean we are confident that the likes of Murphy, White, Orreal etc are going to come through
And I am not angry with Ryan for verbally agreeing to a contract and then changing his mind. This, unfortunately, is an era where clubs sign players to 3 year contracts mid-season and then put them on the trade table 3 months later. There is no such thing as loyalty. By seemingly being willing to take a paycut to come to the Hawks ROK has shown it isnt JUST the money.Red and white till I dieComment

We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment
