Poor man's Paul Bevan. We already have a quarterback and he doesn't have the flair of Bevo. This is not a pick up, its a dead set fumble.

Wouldn't we have been better off getting Lovett?

We wouldn't have got him this cheaply. But yes I think Lovett brings more to the table.

Yer sure, if you wanted to give away pick 16 or our second pick for a player who doesn't actually know if he wants to keep playing.

Reaction from BF posters and here in the office is that this is a very clever and canny deal with Sydney doing very well out of it.

Yep..my heart sank ....my stomach heaved...and that is without walking into the staffroom to face the smug Hawthorn supporters going on about ROK in the yellow and brown.I feel as though this day is never going to end

This guy is without doubt one of the least talented players ever to somehow make it onto an AFL list...I too nearly threw up on the spot when I read that we are taking this no-talent, liability....
I am seriously wondering what on earth this club is doing...damn we have been stitched up in the past by the Bummers come trade time, but without knowing what we gave away for this CP, I can say it was far too much...
Our football department is in serious need of therapy...

Reality is that all it costs is a place on the list. The Swans may well be planning to only take two players in the ND (they've changed the rules this year so that at least one rookie upgrade can count towards the minimum three draftees). And if we weren't planning on using the 3rd round pick (or the 4th round pick we've got back in exchange) it's cost nothing.

Shaw's not a dud. He does have great pace. He was playing very good footy before he did his knee a couple of years back. Struggled last year but played some decent footy for the Pies this year. Worst case he helps the ressies make it 5 in a row and we delist him in a couple of years. Reportedly has a slack attitude (likes his booze) but maybe he'll get his act together up in Sydney.

Don't even mention him in the same breath as Bevan. Paul is way, way better on and off the field than this abomination
