I wonder if Fairfax came up with this story after seeing an advert for that high quality current affairs program, Today Tonight, which has Baz, Danny Green and some other sportsman extolling the virtues of some kind of arthritis cream. Put two and two together and you get twenty two - I mean because Danny Green was in the story and he's a boxer (but also a bit of a dancer too) - then that must mean that Baz will be taking the money and donning the big red gloves - and do the Watoozy on the side - he will be on next years Dancing with the Stars for sure !! You know it makes sense and a great story - well to the twats at Fairfax media it does anyway! Such a shame that we dont do Fairfax's defamation cases anymore, some of those were doozy's!!! Fairfax dont ever let actual facts get in the way of a good fluff peice.

This story is doing the rounds of the smarties as well as the dummy's at Fairfax. Personally wouldn't be surprised if Big Beamish dons the gloves and takes up the trade of stoush. He would make a million or so, even if he was a dud. The fight with the Love Machine's ex would get him half a million. And Big Beamish would flatten him.

....cant really say it wouldn't be cool to have an AFL premiership captaincy and a world boxing championship to your name....you could pretty much guarantee you were one of a kind!

I think whatever Barry does post this contract is OK. He's been good for us, but the best is definitely in the past.

I might actually watch and take an interest in the Neanderthal sport of beating the @@@@ out of someone else

I thought you weren't allowed to hit people who need glasses?

Bye blind barry. More trouble than you're worth.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he took the cash to turn pro, his KO on Staker has been the turning point.

If he leaves then, good luck to Bazza on his quest to become World Heavyweight Champion and hopefully he takes down Hopoate on his way.

He's had his fair share of ups including leading goalkicker for the Swans every year since he joined in 2002, 3-time All-Australian (2004, 2005, 2006), 2004 Swans Best & Fairest, most goals kicked in 2005, 2nd most goals kicked in 2006 and of course 2005 Premiership captain. But he's also had his fair share of lows including a 5-week suspension in 2002 for gouging Matthew Primus, his woeful performance in the 2006 Grand Final, his 2007 season in genera when injuredl, the hit on Staker that cost him 7 weeks and a broken wrist after ramming it into a guard rail, and the near-miss on Wakelin that cost him a couple weeks of "counselling."

If he goes, he'll be sorely missed next year and the forward line will be significantly weaked if ROK goes too. I enjoyed giving the Eagles crap for their rapid slide down the ladder, now I might have to take it if the Swans follow that path.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

And then there is the Bum of the Month Club that he can fight for another couple of years. The only issue is that we know he can throw a punch but can he take one>?The heavies hard. And only an Adelaide journo could describe Big Beamish's cross on Staker's whiskers as a "jab".

I wouldn't be too fussed if he goes. He's been a great player for us, but having him at full forward in 09 will just mean another year passes where we don't expose anyone new to the position, which is a very bad thing given the averge age of our list.
