Plenty of people miss out on opportunities in life simply because of the way fate has treated them. He has only himself to blame.

That's not to say he should not get another chance - hell, I said Sydney should sign him. It does mean that I don't feel sorry for him, and that I don't feel he deserves another chance.
I don't find anything in your post that I disagree with.

      Fair enough.
I don't really have any sympathy for his situation (which was of his own doing), but I say that without knowing what (if anything) drove him to it.
I do have sympathy for the way he was mauled by the press and public, as I have much sympathy for Wayne Carey and what he went through.
Not condoning either person's actions, but they paid far more than most do for what they did.

And good to see that some here are able to answer posts that were directed at them
I kinda assume that if I post to someone and they don't reply, then they fully accept my points and are bowing to me.

Just in case that is directed at us all, I thought I'd respond.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play. The downside is Richmond are going to be extremely tough to beat this year.
              Yes, extremely.
              Not.
They're still Richmond and I believe the "ex"-junkie left the ground with concussion.

No concussion, just an easy way of them getting out of him having to get interviewed by everyman and hes dog. I watched most of the game on Fox and Youl be very unhappy to know he went well. 21 possesions and only about 60% game time. Was having a good blow at times but youd expext that after 18 months out.

                  I think that's pretty lame.
The media should be allowed access to him.

Why? All they do is ask really stupid questions.

Because he's Ben Cousins isn't he?
Tiggers can't keep him wrapped in cotton forever.

If they're smart, the Tigers will use Cousins very wisely to maximise any publicity and to cash in fully on him being tehre.

From what I seem to be reading in the press Ben is using himself very wisely to maximise publicity for his documentary and to cash in fully on his drama filled return to afl. A bit dshonourable if you ask me but we live in a gen y . all about me society so I assume someone will say "good on him" for doing so.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Wouldn't say good on him, and I doubt I'd be all that interested.
As I eluded to before, his drug problems are not all that interesting.
More likely the Tigers will be the ones who go full steam ahead with a "how Ben fixed himself up with the help of the Tigers" doco.
