What's the story here?
They reckon he's on his way back to Ireland within the next two weeks. I thought he was contracted for this year and that was it."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the Machine -

SEN is trying to get in touch with his manager and the Swans, so we'll see...
It says he wont sign a new contract and that he signed a three year contract in 2006 meaning he retires at the end of this coming season. Well worded to seem otherwise I think.Comment

This is the Irish media. Perhaps the story came from the culchie of a baguh whose not the full shillin but was on the tear with one of Tadgh's distant relatives whose a gurrier like from Kerry who had been up to Lisotowel and got flutherded on New Years eve in a wicked booze up yer have ever seen and who were compleetly langered and had spoken to shiela tha postmistress who it is seed is sleepin with the local guarda who on good autority was talking to the preest who had been told by yer man in stricteest confidence that alhtough he's an eejit he was earwiggin the coaches brother who had it been talkin to Tadgh's nepheew that yer mans knackered and told thos eejit @@@@e kangaroos to feek off and . . .Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Announced on SEN that he trained yesterday and he 'aint goin' anywhere this year. So settle down folks and keep your knickers on; nothing to worry about.Comment

The article say "it is understood" that he will return in two weeks. Which really means that some journo who understands very little and has made very little effort to understand has included a throw-away line without attributing it to any factual source.
As per Nico's comment, there is little for us to get worried about. He is contracted for the coming season and it is almost impossible to believe that he won't see out that contract (unless some personal reasons intervened between now and the end of the year).Comment

Rebuttal from Kennelly
Tadhg makes a statement to the Irish Examiner
Irish Examiner | Irish News | News from Ireland
I'd imagine another ruse on his part to extract what he can from the Swans ahead of contract negotiations this year.Comment

He scored a rare goal in the Swans? historic title win, the first for the club in 72 years and famously broke into a spontaneous Irish jig after receiving his medal.Comment

Blarney
Five miles north west of the small city of Cork is the village of Blarney. Near the village, standing almost 90 feet in height is the castle of Blarney with its world-famous Blarney Stone. Prehaps the reporter had recently visited and kissed the fabeled stone for which it is now infamous?Comment

Geez there must have been a hell of alot behinds, rushed or kicked, scored if there was only one goal in all that time. Mind you that kind of scoring system suits our current agonisingly boring game plan.
Obviously there isnt alot happeneing in Irealnd at the moment, its cold, people dont get out much so they need to find news somehow, so they make it up to suit themselves.
However, I thinks its time for Kennelly to just say once and for all " I'm going at the end of (insert year here)" and leave it at that.Last edited by Wardy; 9 January 2009, 07:49 AM.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
