If you cant get a decent trade for Okeefe then forget worrying about what you would now or would have in the past gotten for Kennelly.

As someone mentioned the in an earlier post, he's retired from AFL, forget it and move on. The situation is no different than Ben Graham retiring to play American Football. He was still able to play AFL but left to pursue another career in another field. The only problem with the entire matter was his timing.

He should have either retired when lists werent finalised or had the fortitude to play out the season.

Small paragraph in yesterday's Sun-Herald in the "real estate gossip" pages ... Tige is not selling his Sydney home, he's just dropped the rent he's asking from $1200 per week to $1100 per week.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

He's not ruling out a return to the Swans in some capacity, but not as a player.

It doesn't have to. We're hardly going to re-draft him, are we?

He could have sounded just a little bit regretful about leaving the Swans.

And he got a teaching degree. Hope he paid his HECS (or whatever).

Bored preseason musing: How many on the Swans list have real-world qualifications? I believe Kirk is a teacher, Leo has MBA, BBBH has an advanced certificate in going the thump. Have any of the rest spent their ample free time on anything but golf and XBox?

Why would we want him back?

He's getting old and can't play one game without his shoulder popping out.

We have been through this before, if had retired last year before list finalisations and walked away from his contract that would have had salary cap issues for the club in 2008, which could have put us over and lead to drafting sanctions in last years draft.

All list decisions have consequences for the salary cap, even retirements.

I'd say he's still one of our players since he must be counted in this year's cap. If he wants to come back next year I'd say we just have to re-sign him as per any contract extension. I suspect he'll be back if Kerry wins he All Ireland this year and this lifelong ambition is fulfilled. We should barrack hard!

Scott can we have a sticky or a link or whatever to the Gaelic results so we can see how Kerry is going against Connelly's favourites etc.????

We'll have well and truly moved on by then. I doubt he'd want to come back as a player anyway.
