Not at all. I am very disappointed with the circumstances of Tadhg's departure. But I do remember saying that "Club Roos" would all end in tears. The place seems a rabble which can happen when players are over "empowered" and administrators are seen simply as servants. Connolly has a point when he talks of a lack of respect of the players for the club.
The question that needs to be asked is why are people walking out like this?
Who's walked out? Tadgh has left a year early when we all doubted he'd last as long as he has. Coney who came here for a few months and never saw a game and there were stories he wasn't coming at all. Who else? ROK was after more money and had his chance to go via the PSD but stayed. Everitt was finished, Benny couldn't get a game, Nicky D was delisted. Fosdike's knee is stuffed. Hardly a mass walk out!
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.
Is Connolly a born dickhead or did he work on it?
It would help, as he seems to be an authority on everything (just ask him he will tell you about contract law to the High court) to get the name of the player right it's Kennelly
No matter how good a contract is if a player isn't committed then he isn't worth having on the field, And yes fit enough to play gaelic footy but not AFL It is not as brutal as our game and the hits are almost non existent. You people knocking Tige must have miserable lives if this gets you worked up.
By the way the University of Kentucky is in Lexington.....
You need to understand that two of three of our irish players come from the two counties that expect to play in the All Ireland final at Croke Park in September 2009. The season starts in May.The pressure came from Tyrone and Kerry officials to "recruit" one future champion (Coney) and a tremendous full back (Kennelly). Kerry in particularly were desperate to get Kennelly. He will play on Tyrone's feared forward Cavanaugh, who by the way was instrumental in pressuring Coney to break his contract. The small detail that both "recruits" were under contract didn't faze the lads of the Kingdom and Ulster. There is an All Ireland at stake. The knew that Sydney were a soft touch, our administration was dozing and they were offering the strong possibility of an All Ireland medal in a couple of months in contrast to the hard yakka of playing in a side that would struggle to make the finals. By the way Kennelly and Kerry will benefit greatly from the medical and rehab that your hero received from the club. Given that we are providing more assistance to Ireland than the whole of the Irish diaspora at the moment, the lads from Kerry are really appreciative. So Kennelly and Coney chose the possibility of fame and glory over honouring their contracts. Forget the crap about Mum, the crack and the green hills of home. If you reckon the hits are almost non-existent in Gaelic you are totally ignorant of the game.
Get yourself onto the GAA forums. You might learn something. By the way this gem appeared recently on the Kerry forum:
I had a run through the Sydneys Swans web site, not a bad word on it about Tadgh and his decision to retire early from his contract, all wished him well.Obviously Tadgh handles his business with class and grace, seems he waited till his manger returned from vacation so that he could finally discuss the matter with him. Some accross the pond could learn from him.
Ah the blarney.

Benny Cousins not getting a guernsey was the start of the rot for me.
My theory is he has a sheila back in Ireland. If this materialises then once again the power of the p***y has had a hand in causing mayhem at our club.
I was disappointed and sorry to hear that you were leaving to head home to Ireland prior to the end of your contract.
Whilst I feel you have left the club in a difficult predictament at the timing of your departure, I wish to thank you...
*Thank you for the enthusiasm and flair you played the game with.
*Thank you for the enjoyment and entertainment you have brought to me as a follower of the Swans and AFL.
* Thank you for the premiership you helped to deliver and bring so much joy to Swans' supporters young and old.
*Thank you for your continual willingness to talk to your supporters. The photo of my wife and you taken at Nth Sydney oval, hangs with pride in our home.
Tadgh, we will miss your skill and drive off the back line in 09 and beyond, however, I wish you all the best in your move back to Ireland.
Thank you for your time at our club, you will be missed!

Will drag you further than dynamite can blow you, as they say.

Ryan O'Keefe if he had the free choice doesn't really want to be at the club. So you think it would be ok if at the end of the season he just broke his contract. O'Keefe wants to play finals footy. That won't be happening with us for a little while. Big Beamish would rather box for a squillion than huff and puff all over the paddock in a side that is going to struggle with a lot of youngsters. There will be little coming to the big man lace out this season. So at Round Five Beamish has a gut full and declares he's retiring. Three fights against palookas and Big Beamish is really set for life. Well he is not happy jerry so just let him break the contract and let him walk. Apparently the tenure of senior players and raw recruits (FFS!) at this club is going to determined by the mood and feelings of the players. In case you haven't noticed it Einstein we are not going to be hugely successful on the paddock for a couple of seasons. If you let the dressing room control the club we are in for a real hard time. I have seen this club almost go under because of rubbish administration. Do you remember the crim who bought the club, turned it into a circus and walked away from the wreckage? We have produced more Brownlow Medallists than any other club but have had the least team success. The main reason for that anomoly has been weak club governance.
Before you start calling anyone a dickhead try using what Darwinian evolution gave you.
