The only reason I mentioned it (the West coast season in 2008) is because the poster named Emarald hill said that the only reason Geelong is in 1st place and not the swans is because of the fantastic seasons Geelong had in 2007 and 2008. So at the end of the day based on facts and not ifs and buts, since 2003, we are the second most successful club.Comment

Oh, alright then Johnno! I shouldn't have tried to promote us to "best team of the last 6 years". You're right - 573v30's figures show that Geelong has won more games than us since Roosy took over and we're the SECOND most successful AFL team since 2003. Could I just go back to my original post where I wondered how we could be struggling for members when we've been so good on the field? I can only assume that Annie H is correct about the economic situation being a factor because, since Roosy started coaching, Swans supporters have been taken for a fantastic, exhilarating ride and there's been no reason to "jump off!"Comment

I just wanted to "embellish" our already fantastic record, I suppose.
How could I possibly be upset at anyone who obviously knows the significance of the names Emerald Hill and Sandridge?"Notwithstanding the sight of all our miseries, which press upon us and take us by the throat, we have an instinct which we cannot repress, and which lifts us up." - PascalComment

It's amazing how these threads get off the track, isn't it?
I started this thread bemoaning the Swans struggle to sustain memberships and am now looking for fellow South Melbourne/Port Melbourne supporters.
Think I might start a new thread, Johnno, and see what response we get!"Notwithstanding the sight of all our miseries, which press upon us and take us by the throat, we have an instinct which we cannot repress, and which lifts us up." - PascalComment
