Well I thought my Sydneysider membership came today, but alas. No membership cards, just car parking tkts and entry to tipping comp.

My Sydneysider gift was meant to be inclosed but no sign of it. Phone call to the club tomorrow.
    Swannies for life!

Usually the Sydney brochure is heaps more lavish than the Melbourne one. You really have to sell the idea of being a member and what it gets you to many people it seems. Whereas in Melbourne they could send out a piece of paper with "Tick here" & it wouldn't make much difference. Still it would be good to break the 10000 member mark down here!

We used to have Cheer Squad members who'd join just to get the t-shirt poster & stickers each season. Then you'd never see them again for the whole season!

As much as it is nice to know you are getting what other clubs are getting, to me it matters naught when it comes to the crunch. I get to contribute to my club financially, I get to feel part of my club. And no transistor radio or snazzy red & umbrella is going to change that to be honest.

My trip to the SCG is a 30 minute train trip plus the walk

Social life? More like the lack of variety in pubs.
That beer barn they call a brewery at Homebush is an insult to the the sporting punters of Sydney.

Non of my mates could give a rats about stickers and key rings.

I go to Homebush for my team not the less than average venue.

          Bless the SCG

Anybody who is stressing because they have not received their membership should go to the Swans web site and log on. If one is able to log on then all is OK. My details stated that my membership expires Oct 09, and I was then invited to go to the Ticketek site to purchase a couple of Red Zone guest passes for the R4 Carlton game. Those passes used to only be available two weeks beforehand and sold out fast. Glad I rang the club to make enquiry about them.

Notice how I'm not panicking this year ... yet!!
I'll give them five more days before I hit the panic button.

Hey Royboy, got a question for you, I am planning on coming up to Sydney for that round 4 clash with Carlton at the SCG, will I be able to just walk in with my vic based membership and sit in the RED ZONE? Or do I have to book tickets?

I think you have to buy them Johnno before hand,if you are coming up from Melb and specifically want to be in the Red Zone then I would pre buy for sure. - but if you do get some - Oldroyboy and I sit together so can join us if you wish - our group has shrunk a bit this year - but ORB is always entertaining to watch & listen to at the footy.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

The magazine still smells fishy like last time.

I think Wardy is correct, you probably should get in contact with the Sydney membership people if you want to get into the Red Zone for the Carlton game. It's worth the effort if you like an elevated behind the goal view of the game.
