      Article on Faulks

A groin injury ruined Faulks? first year at the Swans and a severe bout of homesickness didn?t help either.

He settled into life in the Harbour City last year and played every game for Sydney?s reserves side, including its grand final win, in the AFL Canberra competition.

The premiership was just his second after also playing in his local club Oak Park?s under-16 triumph.

Faulks felt he had a strong year, so was shocked when Swans officials chose to delist him.

They wanted Faulks to continue training at the club in a bid to make its rookie list, but he turned the offer down.

Yes, it's a shame he was let go. He showed noticeable improvement as the season went on and I didn't even think for a second they would delist him. It's not as if we were teeming with KPPs.

Faulks, Wall and Rowe all showing something at their respective VFL and SANFL clubs.

What about Luke Vogels....I thought he had "it".

It's been a tough year to be a supporter of the Swans and Norwood. Up until this weekend, a combined twice as many losses as wins from the two (10:20).

This weekend had parallels for both my clubs. Both recorded victories over the bottom side in generally unimpressive, error-ridden games. In both cases, the final margin was comprised of the contribution from the side's most prolific forward (and arguably best player): Norwood Taylor 'Heath Grundy killed my AFL career' Walker with 7 goals, Sydney Darren Jolly with 3.

Doyle was apparently v good for Norwood in the ruck. Terlich I think didn't do much, Phillips largely unmentioned in dispatches as well. Matt Davis came back from nearly 10 weeks on the sidelines with a broken leg, through the reserves. Got through the game OK I think. Josh Thewlis named among South's best (which wouldn't be hard, although after a while I guess even Brett Kirk would lose motivation playing for that mob).

Shaw wasn't named in the best for AFL Sydney, but was the dominant tap ruckman on the ground and started a lot of Sydney's attacks with clever positioning of his hitouts.
Bruce was lively and won plenty of the ball, but also got caught a few times and missed the odd target. Still one of their best though and a main reason Canberra wasn't beaten earlier.

They were playing in Blacktown, but my question was in reference to his position on the ground.

Luke Jarjoura....was he a ranga? I remember him standing amongst the reserves after the final AFL match in 02 against Richmond just before the players surrounded Roos to chant his name.

He was across halfback a bit and spent some time on a wing, but for the most part I would say he was ruckroving.
