I meant "just going on stats" to qualify that I couldn't be bothered taking anything else into account.

Out of interest Darren also had a 29 hitout game in that 3rd season where he and Jamar worked over Goodes/Doyle by 57-31 in the ruck (Swans won the game comfortably).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I totally agree. We gotta find a way to exploit our height advantage.People will scream about going too tall.Except on wet days ,with interchange options there is no danger of being too tall. The old adage is right..as the game goes on and players get tired a tall man does not get shorter

I'd actually like to see a bit more of Jolly in the forward line - strong hands and very accurate in front of goal

Possibly Currie/Pyke future ruck combo, with Jesse possibly CHB/CHF.. and Jolly FF, alternating with Currie if need be

Throw in Jake Orreal, if u want, go very tall, right down the spine. Put them in now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get them learning the game at the top level, we can live with a tear or two of ordinary results, well, the fans can, whether the club can survive is another matter. We need to turn up when we expect to lose keep the money going tothe club, that's what allows them to geneerate new players in a time when we need to look a couple years forward and plan a 2012 flag. Well, something like that, I'm sure u all know what I mean, I hope

Good point. Apart from Baz and LRT I don't think we really have a defined spine.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Improving, but lacks the necessary strong hands in a contested marking contest. Had some key chances to take marks in front of goal last night and spilt them as usual.

He did. As did others. We groaned in unison. And disbelief.

White had 47% ground time yet MOL was really struggling up forward. 3 weeks in a row he has had less than 50%. When is the coaching panel going to take some risks, show imagination or add some versatility.

He wasn't the only one spilling safe marks. I spent a lot of time groaning and trying not to let my Footy Tourets take over.

He will be fine, one day. In time to come. Next year, Or the next.

13 disposals, 5 marks in 47% time is pretty decent.

At the risk of sounding too in love with him, just watching the replay and seeing one of those dropped chances (there were two from memory), it was his timing and not his hands in that contest. It'll happen, he's 21 and was playing his 12th game.

I don't really have any concerns about his ability to take a strong mark.

And he didn't play too many junior games before being drafted.

Game time, game time, game time. Ed had 92% and Jesse had 47% - go figure as generation Y say. Last week he had 37%. If you are going to develop the lad how about putting him out there for an extended time to see what size tank he has. The way he is going he will take at least twice as long to develop because he has so much time on the pine.

Give him more game time, and let his confidence grow.
We've seen enough to know he has some talent.
