My wife and 5 yr old are now rabid Swans fans thanks to my sometimes overly vocal procession of loyalty (both at games and in front of the telly).

My wife calls Rhyce Shaw "Gonzo" after the muppet character!

I reckon his run and intent has been awesome....and I reckon he's only just starting to feel the "bloods" in his veins. Sure his disposal is a bit errant, but we ask for heart and commitment from our players...and I reckon this bloke will go hard and push himself harder once the attachment grows.

Was great on the weekend.

He will win the Swans Club Championship in 2009. I have posted this several times now.

Although many on RWO bagged him when he was recruited, I just knew that although he was regarded as a good ordinary player, he would give the Swans 150% each week. I was even less concerned when Spud man departed.

Lets hope he has his best two games this year against his old knuckle dragging supporters.

I like him for his accelleration, swerve, peripheral vision, is ususlly well on the move when he accepts the ball... I can nnot understand how you get to AFL level without peripheral vision checking to see how much freedom and time there is before disposal is essential and to not cause a HTB whistle...

Flying at the moment. I was always open-minded to picking him up and he's certainly delivering at the moment. Gave very little up to get him too

His post match interview on Fox was very thoughtful and articulate. He speaks really well.

I like his game. His disposal is no worse than anyone else and would be superior to Malceski's game yesterday. His running is excellent.

I agree. I'm one of us who've turned into a big Shaw fan in the last month after not being sure about the trade.

About his disposal, whilst I have no stats to support this my impression of him in the Carlton game was many times as we were rebounding out of the backline after a string of handballs, he was the go-to guy to deliver the long kick up the ground. So it was more noticeable if he missed a target compared to others who more often handballed or short passed.

But IMO part of our structural problem - esp. on bigger grounds - has been lack of directness via the long kick up the middle corridor. I assume he has been given this role by Roos. I support this and would like to see him given some time to improve hitting long targets.

Smart top opposition coach will find this out quickly and will work out ways to negate him, perhaps with more opponents, closer to him or tagging him.

Plan B setup play without Shaw to get out of 50m defence should be practised well. Then it is more full-proof. Then it gets confusing for smartie opposition coaches who think they have the answer.

I have yet to see (none? ) quick kick-ins and/or quick run out from goal-posts with set play since round 1 Vs Saints. Slow kick-in contributed high percentage to our defeat that depressing nite. "Aggro going to bed.

Aside from using Shaw well Vs Blue, coaches running out of ideas in that department? Coach Roos should put some of his probable knowledge/expertise/hidden love sport of American Football where set ups are contantly in play, I believe. You are in auto control cruise doing 120Kph freeway, more often on the field.

Weird, I continually notice his more effective kicking game (given that I bagged his inclusion into the team) - his penetrating and pinpoint kicks have become a real highlight, not to mention his capacity to run and break the lines
