In the days of NO live games, ALL played on Saturday afternoon and twenty minutes of highlights delayed by several hours as they are whisked by Morris Minor down to the 7 studios. All commentated by a dribbling Peter Landy and clueless Lou Richards and the only games that ever got a replay were those at the MCG involving Carlton and Collingwood... Those good old days????

The main difference was that you could go to all of your teams matches and see them live, so a replay or live coverage wasn't necessary. No I am not saying we should go back to those "good old days", but they were fun....even if we were never a chance of winning anything.

BTW, I often use the friends who have Foxtel option, fortunately Jodi is a member of the Swans and of RWO!!!

I was actually referring to the era of Wayne Jackson. But I'll take up the cudgels for Landy. Accurate, let the game do the talking and never imposed himself in the commentary. Hudson who has to be the moist seriously annoying person on the box is a little smart arse who has the kind of head in my olsd ashphalt jungle we would'nt has stopped punching. Don't start me on Mc Guire or that mysoganist moron Newman. Got back a look at atape of Chicken Smallhorn, (didn't have to try to be funny he just was), Jack Dyer - a Damon Runyon character writ large and Lou Richards a genuinely funny and warm hearted man (despite the Collingwood heritage). My Mum who had a gutful of Lou's rubbishing the Swans had complained to the switchboard about his bias. Lou turned up at hom,e with a bunch of flowers and an apology. Richards never put supporters down unlike the moronic parasites making a killing (and killing) the game today.

So the two hours of highlights on Saturday night was sufficient then?? OK. We'll see what we can do about transporting you back.....

I have great respect for Huddo after his call of our win against his team in THAT semi; I can overlook any of his smartarsery.
Nice story about Louie the Lip.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

the only thing to thank channel 7 for is allowing Melb viewers the chance to watch that Big Horse Griggs instead of LIVE Friday night games - special!

So, no game on Channel 7 Sydney tomorrow afternoon - I imagine because they want to telecast the Monday night game. But Sydney viewers don't get to watch the Monday night game till 11.30pm. Thank You Channel 7.

Tey advertised during the telecast last night that the game was being shown at 7:30pm in Sydney and Brisbane. I did find that surprising.

I hope they changed their schedule and haven't updated the TV Guides, however I'm not holding my breath. I can't see them broadcasting AFL during prime time Monday night.
