Incidentally, at Club Swans last night Jude said that ROK couldn't be there because he was being iced after a heavy bump. When was that?
Jude also said that he and Jolly were late to the club because they'd had a presentation to Kirk and after Roos spoke Kirk had delivered an inspirational speech to them all. "Yeah I know he talks a lot but this one was special. Kirky gets a bit emotional when he's concussed and he was concussed against the Dockers. He sat alongside Craig on the flight back and cried. His speech was a follow up to that."Comment

Sorry kids, haven't read the last million posts.
Were we lucky to win or what?
Am I the only one in the whole @@@@ing club who cares about percentage?
Lots and lots of stoopid errors.
The free kick count against us was in triple figures - most of them very, very, very soft or non existent.
Friggin selfish forwards left Micky hanging on 499 goals.
No respect.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Money bags went back into a pack (against the serial whinger i think) and was hit in the side. Got the mark/spoil/free and he earned his remuneration this week. Gutsy performance by duck arse.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Worst offender was Teddy who played a ripper otherwise. At full gasllop, ears pinned back and let fly over the head of Big Beamish and Magic. And missed. He's learnt nothing from the 06 GF when the Weagles knocked him cold while he was pulling the trigger on a long bomb.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Great first half where we should have put them away. Secod half we looked slow and lacked a lot of movement through the centre and even up forward. Richmond almost stole a game we should have won by fifty points not nineteen.
Hall and MOL didnt seem to lead at all in the final quarter when the ball came charging downfield. In fact Grundy seemed to be the only one getting on his bike to make a decent lead.
Backline were magnificent except for the occasional sideways option when the ball down the field of through the corridor would have been way more effective. Rhyce Shaw needs to learn that he doesnt need to run fifty metres with every run out of defence.
Goodes looks like he is either hampered by injury or just going through one of those patches of terribleness he goes through. The rest of the midfield looked slow and lacking cohesiveness and just seemed to always be the trailers at the clearances and when they were first for the ball, fumble fumble fumble.
The umpiring was disgraceful (25v14) and even this didnt show how lopsided they seemed to be. Unfortunately every single decision was probably justifiable but it was more the inconsistency of the application then the actual call itself. With so many rules these days, the umpires are probably rarely actually wrong. If you look at the stats for frees against, our forwards were canned . MOL , Hall and the Brick had a total of about 8 frees against and none for.Comment

Several posters have commented that the midfield had the fumbles yesterday. A question for anyone who saw the game, either live or on the box, how much do you think that was affected by Bird's absence? He is a seriously good distributor. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

It was a game of two halves. Our performance was significantly better in the first half; a lot slicker. Richmond scored a brace of goals one after the half time siren from a dubious free, then the first of the second half. The Bloods had been travelling quite smoothly up until half time and took their foot off the gas. These two goals gave the Tigers a sniff of self-belief however, which we didn't twig to until it was almost too late. Richmond were far better than us in the second half and Hally's goal after the f/t siren flattered us and disguised Richmond's dominance. Their midfield seemed a lot more committed and direct, and were winning the clearances with ease for most of half two. They'll take a lot of heart from this one, we'll just take a scrappy four points. It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

For an unconvincing win the Richmond game had a lot of good moments that still linger.
- Mike Pyke's textbook tap and MOL's goal
- Pyke's mark
- Teddy's mark
- ROK's mark
- Jack's goal
- Thornton's goal
- Marty's tackle
- The Swans revival in last ten minutes
Plus MOL and Hall played well, Shaw was in hot form again, and Meredith showed plenty of run.
We played well for two and a half quarters. If we play four quarters next week it'll be a game. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

Our defence has nearly cleaned up this week in Matt Burgan's TOW. Hard to know what to make of this, given that we were playing the Tigers, hardly with a powerhouse forward line. Maybe it just reflects how flabby the midfield was.
Hard to argue that any of the four don't deserve to be lauded for their games. Just a shame we can't bump out Gilbert and get Bolts in there too.
