The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face. -

Why does everything have to be black and white...to me that looked better. We had kicked more and the vibe was good. Maths Shmaths."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

Hmmm, Currie listed as the best, and Crouch not in their at all.
White could be dropped for Currie?
Or perhaps if LRT is injured..will Grundy go to the backline, leaving White up forward permanently and Currie brought in to ruck..Comment

That's a very encouraging list of "bests". Of the smaller third/fourth year players, Laidlaw and Smith seem the two most likely to come in and contribute. And looks as if Currie is inching ever closer - our 4th debut of the season surely can't be many weeks away, particularly if Jolly's shoulder is as sore as it looked last night.
Seeing RBN in there is good too. As a "tall", any sign that he is potential AFL standard has to be a good thing.Comment

The ever-optimistic official report is that he'll be back in 3 or 4 weeks.
(PS Did the fact that Tim Schmidt's career is over, pass entirely unannounced? I didn't realise it until now. Unfortunate bloke; perfect example of the principle that an entire career can turn on a bit of good or bad luck at a crucial time.)
The lesson from this game, should be 'get Laidlaw in the goddamn side, already'. On the limited evidence I've seen, he's a better player than his contemporaries Thornton and Brabazon. He's played 5 seconds games now, so no question as to his match-fitness. And he's been in the best players in most of them. There's also a ready swap, with Meredith due to be rested.Comment

If this is so, it is quite a cruel tragic as we didn't see his true potential.Comment

If his return is anticipated for the next pre-season then, unless he is contracted for 2010, one could assume that his football career with the Swans will probably be over as he has been on the list for quite a few years.
If this is so, it is quite a cruel tragic as we didn't see his true potential. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment
