Yep fair enough... I thought today was a better example of your point than the Bulldogs game actually when really he played a lone hand and didn't have much support at all which is probably reflected in the responses to this thread.

I thought there was about 10 mins to go when he missed the set shot. Did he touch the ball again after that?

If I were Goodesy there are times when I would run away, down the race, out the gate and far, far away - screaming, tearing my hair out, demented. After spending most of the day bolstering the midfield, the backline and the forward line, kicking goals etc. who knows what straw breaks the camel's back - it was probably BBB this game. How would you like to be the one who has to do your best in your role and inspire the 'drones' as well? As others have said if Adam was in a team like Geelong he would be a super star.

Only a couple of minutes. And I am not sure many of the Swans touched the ball after that. Got whisked down field, from where Buddy and Osborne had shots at goal.

            23 posessions 8 tackles 3 goals.

Great effort by the dual brownlow medalist.
Very happy to have him as a swan. Anyone who isn't...shouldn't be a swans supporter.

My recollection also. Not much support for the thesis today - missed a gettable shot from distance, but otherwise could hardly have done more when it mattered to drag us over the line. Very close to another BOG in a losing team.

If you want to pick on Goode, his biggest mistake in that final 10-15 minutes, was when he played on in the pocket after a mark and got tackled, and a Hawk's goal resulted.

Besides that he was the star of the game, and in the last qtr he was in everything.

That missed shot was with 3.05 minutes to go.

So there was about 5 minutes of play left. Sorry, it felt like longer. The point still remains that Goodes played an outstanding final quarter to that point. Missed a very gettable set shot, and that was that. Once again Goodes was great and we lost.

we were ahead at that point. it was a disastrous decision and the ball went directly back to williams marking in front of bevan (it was a free - did he mark it as well ?)

he's still a superstar in my mind and to err is human

No. I would say there would have been about 3 disposals to Swans players in total after that point though, as it was under 2 minutes to go, and Hawthorn controlled the ball, so that's hardly going missing. If that's what your argument is based around....

As Goodes was taking the shot I could swear the clock said 2:12. Though I suppose with extra time, that would equate to roughly 3 minutes raw anyway.

I don't think any of us are bagging Goodes (I'm certainly not), he's a brilliant player who I'm very glad to have in our team! If anything if Goodes ever happened to stumble across RWO and read this thread I'd hope he'd take it as a challenge to try and take the game by the scruff of the neck a bit more often, it would have been great to see him nail a long goal from 50 instead of passing off to Jolly! He was very good again today, it was a shame he missed that gettable set shot at the end that would have given us a final chance to pinch it, but he's only human and it wasn't the reason we lost.

Get real. That says more about the team than Goodes.
