He was 50/50 with the plick with the unpronouncable name in genuine one on ones. If you are including the lace outs to his leads no defender stops those.

The first half had me thinking back to 05 but the 2nd half was one of the worst I have seen.
The amount of silly turnovers was what I thought really hurt us. On to some individuals:
        O'keefe- Very good
Craig Bird- I liked he seemed to always be in at it.
Goodes- Started well then looked like last years injury
Youngsters- All looked pretty good (Brabazon very good) but got lost when the game turned.
Mattner- The only defender turned up to the game.

Not surprising you'd say that, but don't worry we'll continue to ignore your lack of football knowledge (Bevan > C Bolton! LOL! ) Perhaps it would be easier if you just put it in your sig?

As for the rest of the rant, perhaps aim that at someone else.

I am proud of Braba, took his chance and grabbed it, and silly me doubted him the last couple of years (although I have always said he could organised his troops really well). Quick on his feet and quick thinking.

Thank heavens Cheese is starting to put in effort and is now starting to move all the time instead of spectating.

Reg constantly annoys me, but....I am willing to be proven wrong, and at times he does really good things.

Want to acknowledge Nick Smith - he does quiet stuff and does it well.

Nice to have Ves in the mix, a bit of spark, maybe a little spark at present, but a spark nonetheless.

I would like to acknowledge courage shown by Jacko.

Birdy can be erratic but kept at it and didn't drop his head.

I love Jesse's hands, and the fact that he is starting to move like an AFL player. He is going to be just fine.

AND Lewie is turning into a good quality backman, courage to the max, and persistent. So improved, I nominate him for that honour at the B&F.

I think, boys and girls, that we may be ok in a couple of years time. The signs are there.

I would love to think that Kirky will stay on at the club as a teacher/assistant coach after his ground time finishes, he is a natural. That and the fact that NO Kirky would be hard to cope with.

I thought Brabazon was pretty good. He consistently got on his own on the wing and his delivery was a hell of a lot better than most of the side.

I don't necessarily buy the fact we have so many young players in the side now that we will suffer until they get games under their belt.

I think it is more our increibly poor depth of kicking and speed by our midfielders that hurts us every week. As much as they work hard Kirk and Bolton's kicking is at the bottom end of the scale and Craig Bird is no better. Brabazon's kicking is way better than that trio.

On the odd occasion we win a clear centre clearance the outcome is almost always a scrappy kick to nothing. Our inability to craft quick kicks to our forwards is the dominant reason we score so poorly. When we do have a set shot we just slaughter our kicks. Our inabilty to apply scoreboard pressure is palpable.

Brabazon appears to have a pretty good motor so I advocate throwing him straight into midfield duties. I know Bolton has been better this year but he hardly had a possession in the clear today. In the last 3 games our leg speed has been a huge factor in our poor last quarters.

Sides clog up our 50 metre zone and we just fall for going wide with poorly skilled kicks. We have to be the worst side in the comp for putting genuine pressure on backlines. They don't have to think too much about their game when they play us. We either go too much to Hall or go wide to a midget forward.

Another thing; when is someone on the coaching panel going to tell Jack to stop finessing every time he has the ball. He rarely goes his first opption when clear (Leo Barry syndrome). While they are at it tell him to attack the ball when it falls short of him instead of waiting for the bounce. 2 weeks in row now this has caused turnovers and goals.

Oh that is a lovely description - I have been wanting one and that fits perfectly. He does annoy me. I don't want him to, I want him to be great, but oh yesss, ponderous is a delicious word for him. Thanks.

And look I''m glad the boys didn't smoke after the game, at least that's another positive from todays game.

This defend your boy at all costs stuff is pointless. bevan is a mid tier player who was repeatedly 3-4 yards behind his opponent. No disgrace in that - he won't be the first player beaten or the last.

you would do your kid more service by recognising his limitations

and your summaries of our youngsters when not having your blinkers on shows that you can be reasonable - i too reckon bird was poor today and probably needs to strengthen his upper body because he does get brushed off in tackles a lot.

smith, braba, barlow, and bird all have disposal errors regularly. and each cost us.

but then so do grundy, lrt, ted, crouch, and a few others

and our skills below our knees across the board are really poor.

We still have the closest game of the round.

Better than last year's Premiers.I loved it that they got beaten. Suck itup Hodge. Suck it up Mitchell. Suck it up Brown

Better than the premature ejaculaters...The Blues are coming.

                              Better than poor old Melbourne.

Better than Freo with their youngsters .

I just assumed Dalai Lama was on drugs!!

The reality that we are in a 'rebuilding' phase really hit home today, at the start of the season I thought this may happen (but hoped it wouldn't, of course). I don't know why but the last three weeks in particular have really hurt We have some good kids and I want us to win a few of these 'gettable' games to boost their confidence!

We're still a chance of continuing our winning streak against the Blues in Round 16 though

I still like him as a player but I think Mattner can be as ponderous as Grundy sometimes, looking at some of his decision-making...
