Still the closest loss out of the whole round with St.Kilda starting to pull away from Richmond.

I watched the game with my budgie friend on Saturday. At half time his wife said, look - they're 20 points in front.

I said at that point that I wasn't going to get excited, because there's still a half to go and they're just as likely to not only give away that lead, but to lose by that amount.

      I'm psychic.

      Watched it again yesterday.

      We were still crap.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Yeah, given how badly Adelaide played in the first half (Neil Craig said it was their worst half of footy for years) they were always going to come back after a halftime bake. And when they did, we couldn't match them.

Their I50's were atrocious in the 1st half. Just banging it in willy nilly, and coming straight (as straight as WE can), back out again. The ball hit the ground without a player near it many times.

It is interesting that the game didn't have the same pattern as our usual defeats against Craig. Roos changed the game plan in two critical ways. We attacked more from the midfield with Shaw in particular used to great effect off a wing. And our quicker speed in the midfield put a lot of pressure on their mids going into their forward line. The aimless kicking of the Crows in the first half was the result of midfield pressure. Its really a bit much for the Crows to claim they just played badly in the first half. They were under fierce midfield pressure.
Our midfield is now very quick across the turf, particularly with Brabazon taking on the Fosdike running role and Shaw running into the square off a wing. A lot of the criticism of Teddy and Grungy is unfair as due to Shaw being further up the ground they had a lot more running out of defense to do.
Crouch is completely useless as a small defender playmaker running the lines so the big boys had to push it up the paddock. DOK should have played as a running halfback. Of course if Bolton had played the Bevantor would have been released into his quarterbacking role which would have relieved the pressure on the big boys running the ball out of defense.
Our usual gameplan of running off the halfback line was changed. Craig was one of the first coaches to twig to a counter strategy (with Mick Outhouse) by placing Mr Wobbly and fast half forwards to choke off the attack. In the first half they were taken by surprise and Roosey was well ahead on points at halftime. We were one class midfielder short of a win. McVeigh was badly missed in the rotations and in running the game out. Hats off to Roosey and the brains trust for mixing it up. All in all it was a good crack by the boys.

Yeah,I have been critical of Roosey's coaching but lately he has been quite sharp. He outfoxed Craig in the first half and his response of blaming the players is his attempt to shift the blame. Craig responded but we still should have won. Two critical misses by Barlow ! We needed them to get across the line as the Crows were always going to hit back. A hard effort in the 3rd was essential. Some bad decision making cost us goals but that is always going to happen. We should have been far enough ahead to allow the backline to have less pressure. Some of the youngster still can't quite handle the pressure and Teddy always has to have at least one brain fade.

Yeah, a bit disappointing by Ed but you seem to be suggesting that he was the only one to kick points instead of goals. His stats suggest that he got quite a bit of the ball - especially compared with some of the other youngies. He has shown improvement in some of the areas that people have been rubbishing him about - give him a go!

Your right.he is a much improved player.I mean he got the ball and had the chance to put us two more clear! Ok bad luck he didn't but overall a much better game from an improving player. We didn't seem to miss Moore either,i feel Brab gave us more!
