If 2 weeks is offered they should take it.
Hall may get 5 weeks.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -
It really is time the club took a stand, he should have been dropped after the Hawthorn match and probably would have been if he was at any other club.
Talk about leadership at the Swans - where is it coming from?? The club hasnt shown any - the leadership group is a rabble, Barry must feel like he can do what ever he likes.
All the talk about how we need Barry next year is utter crap, we wont play in a grand final next year, his leadership on the field is a joke. We would be better off putting White at FF now and bring in a 2nd ruckman, Im sure Micky'O will be around next year as a mentor to Lewis , White etc.
Bottom line is to punch a player whilst you over him and he is on the ground is a gutless & selfish act in any sport.
Just me 2 cents

Stick up for the bloke when you need him to play in a grand final by selectively saying there's nothing in a punch and that the victim was just soft - but then all of a sudden when you're on the slide, there is and it's terrible behaviour.Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.Comment

Why weren't people this out-raged over the Matt McGuire incident?

Q&A.
Nothing much in this one either. He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

He has now done this many times before (the Maguire incident at the time was more or less an isolated incident), he keeps saying sorry and then doing it again, and this one was head high.
Either you can't tell the difference, or you're being deliberately pedantic in order to stir the pot.Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.Comment

The punch wasn't completely unnecessary and stupid is my point. A love-tap to the gut of a defender in order to shake him and get to the ball is VERY DIFFERENT to reacting to some rough treatment by knocking a bloke in the jaw while they're on the ground and the ball is in the umpire's hands. Neither are dangerous acts, but one is one hell of a lot more stupid than the other.
The Maguire one wasn't an act of stupid aggression, it was a mildly dirty but ultimately effective tactic of getting away from an opponent. This incident is an entirely different kettle of fish. Sure, Hall had shown aggression before, as you point out, but he appeared to have it under control, and the Maguire incident didn't really do much to dispel that idea. Say what you like about it, Hall was in control the whole time. The same cannot be said of Hall's recent indiscretions.Last edited by BSA5; 29 June 2009, 06:06 PM.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Just rewound the tape to have a look. Incident happened as the siren was sounding. It started marginally before Hall took his swipe but was still sounding as he did so. So my "well and truly sounded" was probably not correct given the umpires hadn't had time to assimiliate that the siren had gone. But certainly it had started.Comment
