Paul reckons it's all Danny Green's fault.

Roos said all at the Swans were confused by Hall's behaviour and that thoughts of a boxing career may have interfered with Hall's focus.

"We are very confused as a football department and a coaching group as to why it is happening, and that is very, very possible, that someone is in his ear, that someone is talking to him about that (boxing)," he said.
Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.

If Roos hasn't spoken to Hall since the incident then I actually think his (Roos) comments are out of line. I wasn't frowning on his comments too much at first as it seemed to me in the little pieces I read/heard (I haven't seen the entire press conference) that he was speaking as if he'd chatted to Hall and that's what Hall had expressed to him; if he's projecting that sort of thing onto Hall without discussing it with him I think that's poor form (unless he has been told that's his thoughts second hand from someone who has spoken to him).

This isn't the first time that Roos has spoken to the media scathingly about a player whilst also stating that he hasn't spoken to the player. Considering the number of players on our list, I don't think it's going too far to suggest that between Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon he had ample time to chat to him about it? I appreciate they may have said "collect your thoughts, we'll chat mid week" but in that case Roos needs to say little more than "he'll collect his thoughts, we'll chat mid week".
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Please nobody say Fev.
If Dicks involved its Fev. Otherwise its Pav who is out of contract. A huge payment which we can offer him (no Hall, no Leo, Tadgh, Fossie. Magic) and a team that at least has a go unlike the Anchors.

How often can you speak nicely to someone and ask them to behave. I think Roos has probably gotten sick and tired of trying to talk to barry about this.

While I believe this is a nothing incident in its own context, there is nothing wrong with putting the challenge out there to him in public. Surely all he is saying to BBBH is - perform and show US you want to play for US, otherwise retire or play for someone else. Makes it a public challenge that Barry can either sook about or respond properly and meet it head on.

If he truly wants to play ,he should respond properly, get out there and play like he can and prove his worth , whether it be to the swans for another contract or for a new contract with a contender.

But hey lets not get in the way of a good conspiracy theory. Pavlich to the swans - you gotta be kidding.

TO back Hall up in his "some people" statement which has been discussed previously - from the HUN -

"BARRY Hall has accepted a two-match suspension for striking. Hall threw his career into doubt with his punch to the jaw of Crow Ben Rutten on Saturday.

By pleading guilty, he will be unavaiable for this weekend's game against North Melbourne and the Round 15 clash with Essendon.

Last night, boxer Danny Green said it was time his good mate Hall ended his career with Sydney and began his long-planned future in boxing.

Speaking after the AFL's match review panel had offered Hall the two-match suspension, Green told the Herald Sun: "My view is it's time for Barry to get paid for punching someone, not persecuted."
                "

So its not just Roosy saying it!

Why? We have always hunted marque players. We have plenty of headroom under the salary cap (particularly with the job being done on Big Beamish)We can offer him the biggest contract in the game (or could have before Dick put us in the red by stiffing the punters). He's unhappy at Freo. With Goodsey and Pav kicking it to each other we would be final four material. Or do you believe everything Roosey says to the media?

Hall vows to fight on at the Swans

                      Interesting ...

Roos and Hall have not spoken since the incident. They are expected to meet this week to discuss where they go from here.

"Clearly there needs to be some more discussion with Barry about what he wants to do, more than anything else," Roos said. "Up until this stage, he's been very clear that, providing his body's OK, he wants to play again, but his actions clearly don't display that he does want to play again. I just question whether he does want to move in a different path so that will be part of the discussion we have with him.

"I think there must be something in the back of his mind, whether it be boxing or whether it be something else, so that's a discussion I'll have with him in due course. What I'm seeing at the moment is a guy that just doesn't want to play AFL football.

"As you get towards the end of your career, you can lose the drive and lose the desire. If he feels like he's no longer interested in playing for us as a footy club and playing AFL footy, then we're certainly open to those discussions."

But Hall was quick to squash those ideas, saying he was "contracted until the end of the year, and that's my focus".

Told youse. Roosey is not happy jan.

They are "certainly open to discussion" about him leaving.

Sounding more and more like Davo deja vu by the minute.

As old as he is, I would take Pav in a heartbeat.

He's not really old. He's only 27. There are ten players on our current list older than he is and three pretty close.

I'm a fan of the big fella - always have always will - yes he has done some stupid things - but he has done a hell of a lot more good things whilst he has been with the club and we all loved him for it.

                            Oh how quickly things change.

Again the bloodbrothers ethos is conditional., but it doesnt mean that it is right. People take to following others like sheep, some try and but just cant get it together in the end. God only knows what will happen once Kirk and Roos are no longer with the club, what wacky new idea will they come up with then?

(and I'm waiting for the abuse I will receive from some in RWO land for saying such things)

So Roos was on the news last night having his "say" or should that be "hint dropping" - whats the bet Kirk, or one of the leadership group members will have their say on tonights news - you can see it coming.

The media will apply enough pressure to the point where Baz will say "you know what?I dont need this @@@@ - I'm going - hope you are happy now"

The media will then change tack and proclaim what a great player he was etc.and he is a loss to the game. Not unlike how they are now portraying Michael Jackson as a God damned Genius now that he is dead, where as for the last 10 years they called him a freaking child molesting weirdo who happened to have a few hits.
