He was a Rising Star nomination in his first year. He came equal sixth in our Best and Fairest last season. That either makes the coaching staff gooses or .Bevo bandwagon driverComment

As opposed to your stance on Crouch, which has been harsher than anything most people have had to say about Bevan? You are one of the last people to be in a position to complain about sniping.
Most players give their all. Some have more to give than others. If a player has had plenty of opportunites and just isn't cutting it, then it's time to give others a go.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

With the exception of that errant handball that led to Hansen's goal, I thought Bevo had a very good last quarter.Comment

I have to ask; Bevo's had a game or two this season where his opponent has kicked 4 and you won't hear boo about that being a reflection on Bevo's performance in the game- are you now saying that the goals scored by a forward do directly reflect the performance of his defender?Bevo bandwagon driverComment

And all the goals kicked by Johnson on Bevan were not Bevan's fault, and C Bolton is a hack, needing help from Bevan, and we won't talk about those times when Bevan has been annihilated in defence. Your logic is amazing. The coaches have no idea except when they agree with you.Depends on the particular circumstances of each game. Against the Crows two of the goals of his opponent came from turnovers when he was running forward. Against Geelong he was beaten by a brilliant opponent, after he had taken Bolton apart. I think the debate there was whether he had a "shocker". Which is an irrelevancy with Bevo because he gets bagged by an ignorant minority if he beats his opponent or is beaten by him.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Crouch at this stage of his career, which is actually his last year and the club at this stage of its team development should not bew playing Crouch or a player like him. He is and has been a negative stopper, rarely runs the lines, is an atrocious kick and can't mark overhead. If he was a creative player like Kirk, MOL or Big Beamish the arguement doesn't apply. I don't believe the club should have given contracts to Barry or Crouch. Crouch did his job well enough for a number of seasons. Now he is a selfish individual who plays injured and past it. He is keeping a young kid such as O'Dwyer or O'Keefe off the paddock and stopping them from showing their potential. I don't blame Crouch alone. Also blame the selectors and Roos.Comment

Not even going to bother reading the nonsensical ravings of Connolly anymore.
Bevo had a shocker on Sunday. Period. In a low scoring game that was only won by a few points, his clangers directly resulted in at least 3 goals to the opposition.
In general play he has been well down over the last few weeks. Let's hope he can arrest the slide because we all know he ain't going to get dropped.Comment

Most of the posts on this thread are nonsense.
The first sentence is somewhat true as I suspect there a number of people that enjoy baiting Connolly as I imagine he enjoys the oportunity to support the local boy with the big heart.
In the end this is just an old fashioned witchuntComment

I will make 2 comments - one for the Bevan lovers and one for the realists.
1. Bevan is a nice fella and would probably be good to have a beer with.
2. Has no football brains. His mistakes fair outweigh any positive contribution he makes out on the field.Comment

As a realist I am in the bevan deserves his spot camp. He makes clangers - but no more than ted, LRT, Grundy, Shaw, Mattner (need i go on)
I have said before and will say again - he is a good average footballer. Tries hard - probably tries too hard (for example his third man up effort in the third quarter on the weekend to assist bolton cost us because he neither killed the ball or the pack)
he makes mistakes. But he's improving and i reckon worth his spot. if he becomes captain I'll be shocked beyond belief...BUT when i was watching on the couch last night and they were talking about Kirky in the same way as they talked about Paul Kelly - well 6 years ago I would never have imagined that that could have happened either.Comment

This thread will be preserved in the Bevo Appreciation Society vault. It was started by bold Woo who also started another thread suggesting that Moneybags lacked confidence! But you have taken it to another level. In a match when Bevo beat his opponent Corey Jones after Jones had loomed as the Kangas most dangerous forward, you have declared his game a shocker!!! You are the front runner for the Connolly Rabidly Absurd Post award to be awarded by the Bevo Appreciation Society for the most anti-Bevo post of the year. First prize will be a full sized (hopefully signed) poster of the young champ. There are still a few games to go but your effort was really champagne Bevophobia and will be hard to beat.Bevo bandwagon driverComment
