My feelings exactly. Rules changes and image-conscious commands from on high did about as much as his rapidly-shortening temper, I think - and plenty of his frustrations were justified (umps' calls, &c). An end maybe as inevitable as any Greek tragedy (minus a few stabbings and poisonings, of course).

But still one of my favourites, and always will be. Thanks for many great memories, Mr Hall.

Just told my Grade 7 French class.....they all cheered even the 2 Swans supporters....I was staggered with the intensity of the reaction.

Rather pissed off down here that we wont get the same opportunity. Would have loved to have shook his hand. He was our bloke and between 2003 and 2007 was a seriously good player for our club during its most successful ever period (three PF in 4 years)

I do think the melbourne media had a vendetta against him (in particular tim lane never seemed to forgive hall or the swans for the matt maguire incident) and will miss him immensely.

A really sad day - I would love to have seen him finish up together with Mickey O at the end of the year rather than now.
However, it seems that he really has looked at the big picture. Each time he played from here on in everyone would have been nervous about his ability to stay in control. As it was the TV cameras focussed on him endlessly every move he made. Maybe the pressure had become just too much.

Feel the same way. The Staker incident wasn't savoury but generally he was more undisciplined than bad. Bazza was great for the Club and I hope we have a chance to farewell him properly on Saturday.

Perfect Doctor J - perfectly said!!! he gave his all, but still it wasnt enough for some and we all know that you are not to have any character or individuality if you are a Swan - that is why I fear for Vespa!!

Many thanks , Barry, for what you have done for our club. Our pemiership win was magical. However, despite your great efforts I do believe you have become a liability to our club. You just could not be trusted on the field. I would have liked you to have stayed with the club and helped to develop our young players but unfortunately it does'nt look like that is going to happen. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
