Since the Staker incident (and remember that he did very little wrong in the years prior to that) the only bad thing he has done is the Rutten one. The Wakelin one was way over the top and a stupid decision by the club to suspend him, as was the Hawthorn '50's' rubbish.

Hall needed to pull his head in but make no mistake, the media have played a huge role in this.

Surely it can't be based upon the weekends performance, where you had multiple goal scorers without the big fella.

There are at least 12 other teams better than North (maybe 15!) so to judge that you don't need a fwd line Hall to win games is a joke. In fact I would suggest that this will result in you definitely not making the finals....

The swans we will become better from him retiring/leaving. I'm just disappointed that a player that was so awesome in 2005 has just became a rabble.

I'll miss your 2005 premiership qualities, but I'm glad to see the back of your thuggery.......

There are so many people I need to thank and I will in good time. But special mention has to go to Stan Alves who was my first coach and gave me the opportunity to play, to the St Kilda Football Club who drafted me, and then obviously to Sydney. To the supporters, members, players, coaches and all those who have taken an interest in my career, thank you.

?The next step for me is unclear, but in time, I will work through it.

Sounds to me as though he has probably quit football entirely, not just the Swans. Wouldn't really make sense to thank St Kilda if he was just quitting the Swans with the intention to play at another club.

We are not in disarray, the conclusion of 2009 was always going to see a number of our older players finish up.

Magic, Leo, Crouch, Hall will be gone. Kirk is going nowhere at present.

Time for an injection of some youth and start the rebuild.

Shame. I'm sure he would have had an extra year with us prior to the Rutten incident.

He no doubt didn't intend to go out and throw punches at players, but seems he just couldn't control that as a natural reaction.

Great player on his day but used up all his chances.

Don't think we're in disarray but it's a big ask for White and Johnston to carry the forward line without the big fella next year.

You'd hope not. Our forward structure was non-existent. A couple more guns in the midfield dragged us over the line.

As a club we are now about to start a substantial re-build and we just can't have this type of issues hurting the playing group next year.

It's a shame, because we really needed him next year to ease both White and Johnstone into the KP forward positions. but the negatives out way the positives at present in keeping him.

I totally agree. The club has bent over backwards to support Hall in the past but enough is enough.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Shame to see him go this way but not a huge surprise. I hope to see him at another club next year as I think he'd like to redeem himself a bit and go out on a high note, and I think he deserves that. I still think the Bulldogs and Hall would be a great match.
