As an SCG Member who has to arrive early to get a good seat and an easy beer, and sees a bit of reserves, this kid is one out of the box.
Without a doubt, the best talent on our list aged 18-22. Not as 'exciting' as Vez, but if everyone here reckons he can play, wait till they see Hannebery.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

According to this -
Swans? generational change similar to ?02: Roos - AFL.com.au We might be seeing Hannebery in the team this week!
Back to that article though, if this year is similar to '02 then I'll be very happy in September 2012!
Kelly + Dunkley = Hall + O'Loughlin? Probably a fair enough assessment in terms of how important they've been to the team over the years, though in very different ways! It's a tough one, but Kelly was the heart and soul of the team and that is much harder to replace than a mercurial goalsneak or a gun forward.
*I do admit bias.Comment

Finally some good news for once, been so gloomy as of late. Can't wait to see Big Jesse White kick a bag, and really looking forward to see what's all the fuss is about this Hannebery kid.Comment

As a melbourne supporter who has only seen the reserves play once,(for a half when I was up for the Collingwood game in 2008) and doesn't see them often enough to know which kids have some real talent and which have not, I would like to know what to expect from this kid. I have heard lots of good things about him, and people hear are certainly talking him up. Can someone tell me, what sort of player he is and maybe the best thing to do is can anyone maybe compare him to another AFL player so I know what he is like, is he in the mould of a Harvey, Voss, Kelly, Creswell?Comment

The kid is a kid still. But he keeps his feet, has the magical gift of anticipation, appears to see the play two moves in advance, and can slip out of a tackle with a sideways shift of his body. I think he will be just like himself with attributes of a number of very good players. You may not even notice him on the ground, but a play will happen and you will say to yourself "where did that come from!". I predict he will be that kind of player. Just as long as our anticipation doesn't cruel it for him.
Whatever his fitness levels now, has a big future.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

Demons sure Jack Watts can handle heat | Herald Sun
"MELBOURNE coach Dean Bailey has shrugged off accusations that No. 1 draft pick Jack Watts has been blooded too soon."
My thoughts being based purely on the fact that they are in similar positions, drafted while still at school...Comment

The other difference is one is a tall skinny key position player while Hanneberry is a reasonably well built midfielder
Watts has been playing on large defenders and has been out muscled on a number of occassions. An underweight midfielder is unlikely to be at such a disadvantageComment

Ablett must go out this week and not return - EVER.
Crouch may hold on till the end of the season for leadership reasons.
Melcho is in trouble. Had a bread and butter pass ready to be delivered to the forward line on the weekend and sprayed it badly and inexplicably. Is a shadow of his former self. The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

How awesome, I know some are still hanging onto the very faint hope of finals and I'd love that too, but the reality is we'll probably fall short and we need to give these promising kids a shot while we can.
We don't want them all playing their first game next year when we don't have Micky and Hall in the side and our other veterans are a year older. If Hannebery can show something this weekend it'll give him so much confidence for the future and mostly for next year.Comment
