    Can Swans make Finals?

Swans need to win last 6 games to make finals no pressure.

    Melbourne
    Saints
    Tigers
    Cats
    pies
    Lions

I dont like our chance against Saints and Cats.If the Guys want to make final they will need to get there heads in the game

We're playing 4 of the top 5 teams, so let me check the magic 8 ball....it says - Outlook not so good. I'll check again later.

Lol @ all the overly optimistic players and fans. I'm a realist and I say we will win only 2 of those games and possibly 3 against the Lions @ home but realistically 2.

      8-14 for the season...fantastic

When a side which is renowned for it's clearance work, tackling, hardness etc can concede 9 goals in the 4th quarter when the game is there to be won; 13 straight goals in 1.5 quarters; and slump to 20-30 point losses after being ahead by 3-4 goals then you've kind of got to wonder a bit.

No. Reckon we'll win 2 or 3 at the most.

I am a glass half full kinda gal, where there's life there's hope, but even I, the ETERNAL optimist, concedes that season 2009 is done and dusted for the Swans.

I believe we got a glimpse of the future on Saturday and that has given me reason to smile. We now have six weeks to get game time into the babies so that, maybe not next year but by 2011, the Sydney Swans will again be a force to be reckoned with!

All over red rover. 2-3 wins at best.

Was a tough draw at the start of the season before a ball was even bounced - with the teams that have improved this year, and those who were tough already, it never got any easier. Coupled with a drop off in previously strong areas (hardness at the contest, stoppages, accurate disposal and - most annoyingly - running games out strongly in the 4th quarter) it is pretty accurate (but still sucks) to be where we are on the ladder.

Hopefully they can send MOL off in style in Round 22 to finish on a positive note!

I'm looking forward to saving some money this September - no expensive finals tickets or interstate airfares. Actually, no, I'm not looking forward to it, I'd give anything to be there again. But we wont. No chance.

                Planning a relaxing September.

Maybe that Greenday song should get a reprieve?

I booked a Europe trip from Sep 5 to 23 sometime back pretty confident in the knowledge we would not be playing, HOWEVER, I did make sure I was home for the GF, just in case!!

A better question is where will the swans finish on the ladder.

Without trying to do the ladders simulator thing, my gut feeling is 12th / 13th.

With our percentage below 90 now, that's an extra game there, meaning we'd probably need to finish with 12 wins to even have a chance. That means winning all our remaining games. I think that says it all....

I dont know that they will drop much lower as there are plenty of teams at the moment doind their darndest not to finish with more than four wins for the season.

As for finals, not a chance .

they will finish in the spot where they are right now, doubt the other four teams can take over, correct me if i am wrong if this is the last uncompromised draft, pick 5,6 or 7 in the first round, it's been 7 years since sydney had a high draft choice, hopefully they can get a future star player.
